A&P through Excelsior

Published

Has anyone taken the a&p exam through excelsior? I already have a&p 1 and now need a&p 2...i'm registered with edukan for the fall for a&p 2 but am considering just taking the excelsior exam. Any advice from someone who has taken it through excelsior would be great. Thanks!

Hi,

English Comp was the toughest exam I took. And my girlfriend flunked 2 times so do not take it until you are ready. I highly recommend MYAcess which is a writing program you will automatically be able to use once you sign up to take the test through Excelsior. I also bought all the books they had listed in the content guide which were St. Martens guide to Writing, A writers reference by Diana Hacker and the English for Composition book.

As far as Excelsior, they do accept English Comp as a 6 credit class. Check do be double sure as my girlfriend just passed her CPNE and is working on her NCLEX and only took English Comp to fulfill the requirement.

Good Luck,

Brenda

P.S. Keep in touch =)

Hi,

I did A&P first, studied 6 months and got a B. I took Micro immediately after, took 3 months and also got a B. These were the first 2 exams I took so I was extra sure I was prepared. I have been out of school 25 years so you can imagine my trepidation.

I have since took Pathophys,English Comp,Soc,Psych,LS Dev. Psych,Gerontology,A&I Literature and Inf Sys Comp App. Working on American History1 at present! I manage a CLEP Test a month. I hope to start Phase 2 of ISU Fall 2008 after completing the rest of my Prereq's.

Hope this helps.

Brenda

P.S I work full-time!

Are you going to start phase 2 after you finish your gray line courses or wait until you finish everything? I'm just starting after gray lines are done...just A&P and the speech test left. Hoping to start phase 3 in January. I've got 2 regular courses at my old college this fall as well as doing phase 2 plus I'm homeschooling 2 kids. This should be interesting. :uhoh3:
