Hey all,

Just wondering if anyone else is starting this program Oct 1st....? maybe we could start a support system of sorts....I am excited to finally get on the road to finishing this degree:nurse:!

Specializes in neurology, cardiology, ED.
I keep hearing about you guys talk about tasks, how many tasks do you have for each class? What do the tasks consist of? 86toronado, what do you have to complete for NVT2? I'm so anxious, I really want to get started. I want to be done by June 2012.

BetterMe: There are 2-3 graded assessments for each course. So when I refer to tasks, that's what I'm talking about. There are other non-graded tasks within your "course of study" that we might also be talking about, but I don't do those unless I am struggling with coming up with information to complete a graded task.

So to answer your question, I am doing three tasks for NVT2 (Nursing professional roles and values). Turning in my second one tonight, and will do my third one next week.

3 math courses down, now to work on speech, and research paper.

For anyone who has taken GMT1, do the task answers have to be in depth or just simply answer the questions? Trying to complete all the tasks this week but I am a little unsure of how to format the answers.

Nevermind I found the answer to my question, but thanks anyway...:yeah:

submitted my first task in taskstream....

Passed my first task in human physiology, now on to Task two....

Hey,

I was just wondering if anyone here is in/went to and lives in NY. I am deciding between WGU and SUNY Delhi - WGU seems amazingly convienent, I am just concerned that hospitals will prefer NLN... does anyone have any expereince with this? ahh i need advice!!!

I'm a NY'er, Suny Delhi....what are there requirements for admission? is CCNE accredited. Most BSN have CCNE accreditation while ASN have NLN. Some BSN programs have both, but both aren't required. I start WGU on Nov 1st.

so NY hospitals dont view an NLN accredited school as "better" than a CCNE accredited one? The only reason why I was considering Suny Delhi is because because I thought NLN was more desired by hospitals but if I'm wrong about that please correct me seeing as I can probably finish in 6 months - 1 year max and Suny would take 2...

Suny Delhi requires :

Admission Requirements

  • Current RN license
  • Graduation from an accredited associate degree or diploma program
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above for prerequisite credits
  • Required courses:
    - Anatomy & Physiology I & II
    - Microbiology
    - English
    - Psychology
  • A minimum of 60 semester hours from an associate degree nursing program with nursing coursework grades of "C+" or better
  • Liberal arts and science courses of "C" or better
  • Liberal arts and sciences credits for diploma graduates must be granted from collegiate institution
  • One year of experience practicing as an RN immediately preceding matriculation is recommended

Well, I've never came across a hospital that prefers NLN accreditation over CCNE. I'm going to have to research that myself. I work in a hospital and they would have no problem with my accrediation.

Now I remember why I bypassed Delhi, the length of time and the one year experience.

perfect! thank you! which hospital do you work at? are they hiring? :)

I'm in the city at Brookdale Hospital, they aren't hiring right now but they are going through changes so they may be.

I am getting ready to start mid November. (Thankfully they are trying a new program to start classes mid month) is anyone else starting soon? For those who have started, how are things going? Any advice? Thanks
