Hi there.

Starting the RN-BSN program at this summer. So far I have completed the assessments and I've requested all my transcripts. Waiting for the phone interview. I'm getting excited. Anyone else starting soon or just recently joined? What's been your experience so far? On the different posts I've seen that it may take as little as two terms to graduate. This is wonderful.

My start date is April 1st, I have everything turned in, financial aid should pay for 95% of my tuition. I have my Associate of Science in Nursing so all of the generals are accepted. I will only have 8 classes to take for my BSN!!! Super excited! My goal is to finish in the 1st 6 months but I'll be okay if it takes the year. Good luck and I would love to hear from others who have already finished or are in the program. Tips are welcome.

Wow...how did you get financial aid to cover 95%? Is that in loans or grants?

I have grant paying about $2800 and the rest I can have a subsidized loan or pay out of pocket. I was in school half the year last year and worked the other half, so based on my taxes for FAFSA my EFC is 0 which allows me the max aid. I am taking advantage of that and getting my BSN while we are "poor" plus I have a household of 5 so that helps too with determining my need for aid. My goal is to finish in the 1st term and be done with my BSN. I am only taking what I need for tuition since I work fulltime and I already owe a lot in student loans from my ADN degree.

Any updates from people currently in the RN-BSN program? How is it going? Is it possible to complete in 6 months? I'm considering going back in August while I still qualify for Pell. Would like some insider info first before I jump in. Thanks!

I started 5/1/11 and thus far have successfully completed 3 courses including the intro EWB2! I determined!! It's hard work, lots of research, lots of APA style writing papers. But I totally love it! I feel like I have learned so much more then your basic multiple choice questions. I like the fact I have to reserach the web or books for my information. It all sinks in and comes together. I had to do revisions on my first two papers. But one I go the hang of the APA style and I followed the Rubic, I totally rocked the following three papers with NO revisions!

Indymom, I plan to complete the RN-BSN in less than 6 months!! And the track I am going I will be successful.

Good Luck everyone!!!!!!

Hi, I just filled out the application last week to and took my entrance assessment. Found out today that I passed all four parts. I am very excited. I do have one question that I can't seem to find an answer to and the admission office is closed until Monday. I have an ADN and the man I spoke to said all I should have to do is the nursing classes. I graduated in 1999 and I saw a few post that said my genral education classes wouldn't count if they were more than 5 years old, but I have not found this anywhere on their website. Also do you have to go to a testing center or have a web cam to take test?

I start this program in Sept. I'm getting my paperwork together, getting transcripts filling out financial aid forms. Just need some advice and any pointers you may have. Who finished the program in six months?

Indymom and Lisa1980 could you tell me where you are in the program?

Classes do not have to be less than 5 years old. They accepted some of my classes that were from 1994.

Keep in mind that if you have an Associate's in APPLIED Science degree, they won't automatically take everything and leave you with just the core nursing classes to take. They will do a full transcript review. That is what happened to me, and I ended up having to take four additional classes (nutrition, biochem, humanities, social science).

When you are enrolled, they automatically mail you a webcam. That is the preferred method of proctoring. However, if your computer doesn't meet the specs needed to use the online proctoring, you can set up a local proctoring site. However, the vast majority of the classes you will take will require papers, rather than proctored tests.

When they did your transfer review did you get to skip statistics or any of the math classes or did you already take them? How do you like the program?

I had already taken stats and college algebra. So far I like the program, although I'm just finishing the first class. I have a paper and a PowerPoint presentation to do, and I hope to be finished with it by the end of this week.
