  1. My name is Annamarie, I am a registered nurse and currently in the BSN program at Western Governors University. For my Professional Roles and Values class I am required to ask nurses from different settings to fill out an interview form regarding their nursing roles. If you work in or have worked in any of the following nursing roles could you PLEASE message me and fill out this questionnaire? *education (either staff development or nursing faculty), *administration (CNO or other clinical administrator), *clinical specialist (nurse practitioner, certified nurse-midwife, nurse anesthetist, or clinical nurse specialist), *staff (staff nurse with a BSN or MSN), *research (may be full-time nursing research or evidence-based practice research within a clinical setting, wound care nurse). Thank you so much. If you do decide to help out can you please reply so someone else in the same nursing role does not fill one out too. I would like only one person from each of the five sections. I have attached the interview form if you decide to answer the 12 interview questions for me. Please email you answers to AnnamarieBreen@hotmail.com 724.7.1-02,04, 7.2-06,08, 7.4-01-08 Interview Form.doc WGU Interview Form.pdf

WGU RN-BSN, any tips? Starting this summer...

I have grant paying about $2800 and the rest I can have a subsidized loan or pay out of pocket. I was in school half the year last year and worked the other half, so based on my taxes for FAFSA my EFC is 0 which allows me the max aid. I am taking advantage of that and getting my BSN while we are "poor" plus I have a household of 5 so that helps too with determining my need for aid. My goal is to finish in the 1st term and be done with my BSN. I am only taking what I need for tuition since I work fulltime and I already owe a lot in student loans from my ADN degree.

WGU RN-BSN, any tips? Starting this summer...

My start date is April 1st, I have everything turned in, financial aid should pay for 95% of my tuition. I have my Associate of Science in Nursing so all of the generals are accepted. I will only have 8 classes to take for my BSN!!! Super excited! My goal is to finish in the 1st 6 months but I'll be okay if it takes the year. Good luck and I would love to hear from others who have already finished or are in the program. Tips are welcome.

    Starting WGU RN-BSN

I start the RN-BSN program April 1st. I graduated with my RN April 2010 and now work in a HCA hospital. Luckily I get 10% off tuition for being a HCA employee. I hope to complete my BSN in the 1st 6 months **fingers crosses**. My co worker stated his wife completed her is 2 months and he is hoping for 4 months. I on the there side have 3 young children, I am the primary bread winner and I have a husband who is in school. I really hope this works out well. They are SO vague in describing anything, you almost have to wait to start to find anything out. I also will be receiving grant money so I hope not to use tuition reimbursement and have to commit 2 years to my hospital. Good luck to all and I would LOVE to hear from others who have done or are currently in the RN-BSN program!! Also any tips would be welcome

Utah RN pay, Salt Lake City area

I am a new grad and I have worked for MountainStar for 6 months. They pay less than IHC. I started st 21.40/hr, IHC starts at 21.80/hr. I also get night/weekend differential. I am also very disappointed with the wages here. I would love to move out of state but my husband would need some convincing. I am tempted to leave the hospital scene and work for a nursing home in hopes for better wages.

Help! Should I file for Unemployment???

I am so sorry your having such a rough start to your nursing career. I am sure you will find a place that is the right fit soon. I currently started, fresh out of school, at a local hospital on the Medical floor. I am so glad I didn't start on IMC or ICU. I still feel stressed going to work but starting in the ICU would give me a panic attack too. To answer your question...the best place to get all the right answers would be your local state job service office... the place where you would apply for unemployment. You can to an employee there and get all the right answers. You might even qualify for other govt and state aid to hold you over until you get another job such as food stamps, medicaid, etc. Don't think of it as a hand out. Rather something to keep you on your feet until you get another job. I wish you all the best and take comfort in knowing you are not the only one who gets nervous at work. It takes time to feel comfortable with our skills and knowledge.

New test plan nclex-rn takers where are you!!

I would also recommend doing a Hurst Review if possible they have online ones and LIVE reviews. I went to the live review and I have to say it was money well spent. Good Luck and don't let test anxiety get you.

New test plan nclex-rn takers where are you!!

here is how to do the Pearson Vue Trick: -go to Pearsonvue.com/nclex -Log-in with your user name and password -click on Register -Go through the process of registering for the NCLEX again. -Put in the County, State, City and Nursing school code -if after you click the "next" button you get a "pop-up" stating to contact your board of nursing for more info----you passed -if it sends you to the credit card page----you failed. This is available to check right after you take the NCLEX.

New test plan nclex-rn takers where are you!!

Just took my RN-NCLEX today. I felt like crap afterward, but that's exactly how I felt after my LPN one too. The computer shut off at 120 questions. I rushed home and did the PVT (Pearson Vue Trick) and it said to contact the board of nursing which is the "good pop-up" so that is AWESOME. I sure hope the PVT works!!! OMG there were tons of SATA, infection control, and priority questions. Only one math question. I'll find out for sure if I pass in probably 48 hours from the Utah Board of Nursing. Good luck to all you who still have to take their NCLEX!!!
