Anyone ever use straighter line to get some of the basics line history or statics. If so how was it. I am trying to get ready to start April 1st and my enrollment counsler recommended it

If you are enrolling in the online RN-to-BSN program, I recommend that you just take the history and statistics courses through .

Why pay Straighterline to get something accomplished when you can take the coursework through WGU at no added cost to you? Due to WGU's flat-rate pricing structure, you can complete these courses through them without incurring extra fees or paying for textbooks.

Also, I am surprised that an enrollment counselor suggested it, as will not accept more classes after your start date. And if you finished classes now before you start, you'd have to have a transcript re-eval which may push you out again. I agree with commuter-the classes through WGU would be a better idea.

Hi registerednutrn,

I am starting May 1 and my enrollment counselor also recommended Straighterline but only after I expressed a desire to get coursework done before that since I had over 2 months from intake interview to start date. He said that it would transfer in as long as I had it completed before my start date. SL transfers your courses directly to from their website at your prompting since they are a partner school.

I went back and forth with my decision but after finding the used text on Amazon for $2.86 and getting a $50 discount with a WGU promo code and another $50 off my WGU tuition, I decided to give it a try with 1 course. I contacted WGU's transcript office to confirm which courses are transferable that pertained to my situation.

You need to know that Straighterline charges a $99/month "membership fee" along with the course fee. I am taking Intro to Communication. The course and membership cost $123 with the $50 discount. Once I transfer it to WGU, I'll get another $50 off my tuition so it ends up with a net cost of $74 plus $2.86 for the text.

For me this helps as I want to get as many courses as possible done and this will free up some time for me when I start WGU to get another course done.

SL is self paced as well. I started Mar 4 and will get midway through and take the mid term exam by tomorrow. I am however hesitant to take Statistics since all of the nursing programs require it and I'm concerned about it being done at an accredited school. Those are the only 2 courses SL offered that I would consider. They offer Micro which I also need but it is just too expensive since you have to purchase a lab kit that costs over $200 in addition to the other fees and the book.

I see you posted this early Feb. Did you end up taking any courses with SL? Good Luck with WGU- I'll be right behind you! I hope to see future posts on your progress.
