Has anyone ever had to undergo this sort of strangess from WGU?

Here I am, so excited to be doing a RN to BSN.

I send all transcripts including a request from Greenfield Community College where the Registrar says "you don't exist." OK... perhaps I dreamed that I was Treasurer of the Student Government... At any rate, after a bit of work and perhaps a letter from GCC that "I don't exist," things move forward.

Now I get from :

"It has come to our attention that you have additional transcripts from Manchester Community College that need to be sent into WGU before your Transfer Evaluation is completed. "

Huh! I've never even heard of a Manchester Community College (though I did find one exists) and have never even visited much less studied there.

This is so strange.... anyone else run into this sort of strangeness?

I ran into difficulties with them when one of my schools refused to send transcripts. Transcripts that contained not one course to be transferred. Since I could not force the school to cooperate, I just dropped dealing with .

Other than one of my former schools taking over one month to send my official transcripts to , I must admit my transcript evaluation otherwise went smoothly.

I assume the 'I never went there' problem will get resolved, but for "I never had any classes there, or never finished", there's a waiver form that your enrollment counselor can either fill out or point you to. I had to fill one out when I had a clep exam listed on a transcript that would not accept because the actual score report was no longer available from CLEP (too old). If the enrollment counselor is not helpful, request a new one - they do have some decent enrollment counselors there, but there are a few clueless ones also. :)

I also had some issues with transcripts. (The details are in a previous post.long story). So, I understand your frustration. But, with a few emails and a lot of patience, things were eventually straightened out. When I did receive the evaluation, I was very pleased. was very generous. Since then the enrollment process has been very smooth and I'm ready to start June 1. Hoping for a timely resolution for you.

Thank you all for your comments.

I'm sure it'll get straightened out eventually as I'll drive to that college (it's about an hour away) and pay if necessary to have the Registrar send an official letter that the transcripts do not exist.

Greenfield Community College in MA clearly lost me as I went there for almost two years and was Student Government Treasurer. did a waiver on that one (and should have as it was over 30 years ago). What irks me here is there response is accusatory as though I lied and hid something.

There is a clearinghouse that handles most transcript transfers and I'm betting that as part of the deal the receiving college gets a search to see if a prospective student is hiding a transcript. That could be problematic if for instance a student was thrown out for disorderly conduct or something.

But still, I'd much prefer a note: "Our seach indicates that a person bearing the same name as yours went to xxxx college, did you go there?"

Oh well, I was a bit on the fence anyway as U of Alabama at Birmingham (which by the way, IMHO has the best Occupational Health Nursing program anywhere on the planet (they are NIOSH research Center and are very well funded) has a RN>ANP program if a candidate has a non-nursing BS and I fit that category.

It'll work out.

i wouldn't take it personally. There have been several posts on all nurses where people were applying to programs and wondering how to,"hide" old transcripts from new schools because they had done poorly. I imagine it happens often enough that the letter is just a form letter.

One we of my schools sent the wrong persons transcript. Same name, different DOB. picked up on it and it got straightened out easy enough. Good luck!
