Nursing Students Texas (UTA)

Published

I thought I would start a thread for those applying to UTA for Fall 2013; AP or on-campus. I will be applying to both and am hoping to find a job at a partnered hospital before the January 5, 2012 deadline.

I heard they wouldn't be calling off the wait list until the end of May

Thank you for the responses please anyone one the waiting do y'all have a backup program? Also please update on here if anyone gets accepted! Best of luck to everyone

@stash11 idk who you have but the book was literally a waste of money. the questions are common sense... I still have my book and never opened it

I was told its used to look up meds during clinical. from what they said it wasn't that big of a deal but if I would suggest a smartphone just so you don't have to fuss around with wi-fi

Are you talking about the book for NURS1300 or the one for Pharm?

Thanks

I just got a phone call from the UTA Clinical Coordinator. I have been assigned clinicals at Brazosport Regional Health System. Here's the kicker: I LIVE IN AUSTIN. Which means that is about a 3 hour drive. Since Austin isn't a clinical site currently I knew I would have to travel for clinicals regardless. I think my plan right now is to leave the day before clinicals, get a hotel near the hospital, and leave to come back to Austin the last day of clinicals. That's the plan in a "perfect" world. Is there anyone else from the Austin area assigned to this site, or has anyone else been assigned this site?

The first semester is going to be the most expensive, however after looking at the "textbook bundles" those prices seem to drop after each semester.

Hi

I'm in Houston though. So there there's no other location nearer to you where they can place you? Wow, that is a looonnng drive. But your plan is a good one, coming to Houston the day before.

Good Luck!!

That is going to be expensive, though! Hotels 2 days/week for 16 months? It adds up! Not sure where other clinical locations are... I feel for ya. :(
