asignment is in Denver Colorado and my "tax home" is Missouri. I rent an apartment in St. Louis area.

I dont know know about this "tax free" advantage. I wonder if I'm being offered a comparable compensation package. Low hourly rate. She said overtime was time and a half. But that's off the $15.59/hour.

You want to know if you are being offered competitive compensation? The only way to find out is to call other agencies. How do you find out competitive prices on anything? Shop around!

I calculated this out to about 1150/week. Don't know the market in Denver, but that's a little lowball for a big city, at least to me. I would echo the others, shop around. What company is this? M and I seems about right, housing stipend seems a bit low for a big city. Take the tax free benefit, ignore the hourly wage, it means nothing, if you insist on knowing your hourly rate then divide your take home by hours and rest on that. If you take a high hourly wage, you get murdered in taxes. Oh and your overtime rate is NOT acceptable, they are ripping you off. Should be atleast 45/hr, that's the bottom floor. I'd shoot for 55 (at least). Mother baby is in huge demand, use that to your advantage.

Addendum for you, I just looked up the gsa per diem rates and Denver has 163/day housing and 66 for M and I. That's the max that a company can legally offer you to remain a tax free benefit for you. You might not ever get that much, but if they say that CANT pay more, they are not being truthful. You have lots more room to go. Not to mention that crummy OT rate. I don't obviously know the bill rate your company has, but it's enough to pay you more than they are paying you.

They are WAY underpaying you. I have not traveled for a few years. I did well as a traveler. However, I would decline this package. Did not know that the economy for nurses was this bad.

That is low. Housing in Denver is super high now, and COL is going up. Check out University of Colorado hospital. they have an in house traveler program, pay is $34/hr, and $1450 stipend/month for housing. Pretty good place, Magnet....I liked it.

I was just in denver a few months ago, Westminster actually. I got $2100 housing, $40/day meals, $32/hr, $1000 completion, 36 hours a week no call, $600 travel, paid my certifications that were expiring.
