Hi all - does anyone work/travel in the RTP area? I'm a NC native who has been living as a Seattle transplant for the last 5 years. I'm trying to find a travel contract in Raleigh NC (or nearby) for this winter to be near my family.
My current agency is having trouble finding a contract for me. My question is, what are the "most popular" agencies with local hospitals? Any one or two agencies that seem to have a monopoly on the contracts? I don't care about the pay, I just want a contract!
To my credit I did a pretty extensive search through the archives here, and couldn't find anything region-specific for NC. Big thanks for any help

I don't know which agency you are with, but I do know that my agency had multiple positions in NC. They have positions in several areas of the state. PM me if you want my recruiters name and company information.
Thanks for the quick reply, I just figured out that I'm not allowed to PM until I've produced 15 posts.. Can you PM me by chance? (sorry I"m kind of a noob with posting/PMing despite being a longtime lurker)

Duke and UNC use the most travelers. I was at UNC with Cross Country. They have a few contracts here and there but with the economy the way it is, contracts are down unless you are open to going anywhere. If you want name of recruiter PM me. The hospital I work at is doing well financially but still put a hiring freeze in place until at least mid year. Good Luck!

The state of NC is hiring travellers like crazy if you are willing to work psych. They have a medical unit if you don't want to be on the front lines on a ward. Supplemental is the only company that is working folks in psych, I believe.

WWTS claim they can have you working a psych assignment within 48hrs in NC.
WWTS treated me very bad. So I am not going to recommend them to anyone.
Scarlett, I need more info. on that, I have just been submitted for my 1st to a very far away facility by them and I have alot to lose by uprooting myself. Nothing is signed yet. Can you PM? Please?
If you are an experienced psych nurse, then I can recommend Dorothea Dix, the crisis stabilization unit is very organized and well staffed, most of the time. I just can't recommend WWTS to you. I am very pleased with Supplemental. Your recruiter can make or break your experience.
