UTMB Spring 2015 Applicants

U.S.A. Texas

Hey Y'all,

I read through the whole UTMB Fall 2014 thread and thought I'd start the next semesters thread (because I couldn't find one). I know the application doesn't close until May 31st, but thought it would be helpful to start this now.

I actually thought mine went better than the first time! They said I would hear back before Jan 5, but my days are numbered!!!  and I have not heard anything yet...

Weh! Lucky you :( Let me know if you hear anything! I'll keep you updated as well.

I just wanted to say that I was admitted for Summer 2015 on Dec 16, no interview needed. I know of another student who was on the waiting list who was also automatically admitted for Summer 2015. Sorry for the late update, the holidays kept me busy! Best of luck to whoever is still on the waiting list... I got my Christmas miracle after all!

I have applied for fall 2015, but need some insight. I submitted my application in early December but realized they needed one more transcript last week (even though the credits are on another transcript already submitted) . I had the school expedite the transcript but it still hasn't registered thru Nursing CAS and the application deadline is this Thursday. Nursing Cas customer service told me that the UTMB still has access to the application and it's up to them to consider you if all materials aren't received by the deadline. My question is, was anyone considered for admission but perhaps missed the deadline for submitting a transcript?? I'm getting a little discouraged that it's just not meant to be this go around .

Id say call utmb :) i have never heard of a situation like that before

Thanks! I'll be calling first thing tomorrow. I hate being this last minute... So unlike me!

Hey there!

I will be starting at UTMB here in the next couple of months and wanted to see if any of the current students that started in the spring could give me some insight about what there typical week schedule is? Thanks so much!!

It may be different for your class starting in the summer, but typically we have intro on Monday from 1-3, clinical can be Tuesday (mine), Wednesday, or Saturday, lab will be the Opposite Day of your clinical (either Tuesday or Wednesday) Thursday we have health assessment in the morning from 9-11 and adult in the afternoon from 1-4, and Friday we have patho from 9-12.

Hey, I'll tell you that in the first semester, you only have one day of clinical! One day will be the labs you have. 2 days (for us it was atleast) contain only one class. It's not a hectic schedule just yet, there are 1-2 days for us (after school and sometimes early mornings) where they have tutoring for classes except intro, those last an hour and is up to you if you'd like to go.

So really, you have school everyday?

I guess technically yes, but clinical and lab don't really feel like school to me. As far as everyday goes, even if you didn't have class, your nose is going to be stuffed so far into books and notes, that it would feel like you were anyway. It's only 16 months.

best to everyone! UTMB is a great school!

I just took the TEAS, and scored pretty well overall, but am thinking about retaking it next week. Kinda wanted other opinions though. Overall I ranked in the 97th percentile with an overall score of 86.7%. I scored a 91 in Reading, 100 in Math, 93 in English, and a 73 in Science. It's the Science section that has me concerned. There were a lot of questions on the exam that were not in the ATI Study Guide, and it's been years since I've taken the courses. Overall I did great, but I read that a 75% in all sections in competitive. I really want to get in, so I'm thinking of studying over the next several days and retaking next week. What do y'all think?
