UT Tyler nursing spring

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Am applying to UT tyler nursing program for spring 2015. Anyone else applying? Feel free to post comments.

The last 5 or so of us commenting applied to the accelerated program.

What time do you think a decision will be made?

I bet we'll hear something by the end of October.... Hopefully sooner!!

Hey guys I thought I would finally join the conversation! I've been so nervous about applying but am anxious to hear back from uttyler! I also applied for the accelerated program and wish everyone luck in this nerve wrecking time!!

I am also applying for the ABSN program. I am anxiously waiting for my acceptance letter. I really hope I get accepted. Good luck to everyone.

The advisor gave me a point sheet. She said that is what they review and determine who is accepted. She also said, if the TEAS scores, do not meet the minimal requirement, then the application is pushed to the side. However, she said to still submit your application because you never know.

As far as the degree requirement, you do receive points for having a degree. But, UT had many students who couldn't make the grade, even though, they had a degree. It makes sense. There are lots of students who are great at school and academics, but are not nurses.

I am like the previous students. I was not that serious about school in my glory days. So, this program opened the doors I needed.

When you guys get your letter, please keep us updated.

What are y'all's stats? We all thought they didn't do the point system with the ABSN and only the traditional. Geez the info is so mixed up!

Just so confusing. I went to the school. She gave me a paper and did not check my points. I personally asked for that and she responded that, that does not count in the Accelerated program. However, she made sure I met the minimum TEAS requirement. However, I currently have 4.0 in all my classes. Left with Texas government and History I. Took History II before the I. Had 85 in my TEAS.

Hi! I've been checking up on this forum for a few months now but this is the first time I've posted here.

I have a question: If we applied to the ABSN program, we won't be ranked on a point system (this is more a statement because the office confirmed this with me). Do we know if we will be ranked in a more random way? Or will everyone just get a free pass because of how confusing this whole process is? Maybe they will just accept the first 70 people on the list? SIGH!

Either way, good luck everyone!

I have also applied for the accelerated BSN for 2015. I didn't know they no longer required a bachelors. Makes it a bit more nerve wracking since that will make the applicant pool larger.

moony13,

I have the same fears, but everything seems to point that enrollment to the ABSN is very low this year so I would think overall this improves our chances for admittance.

Take care,

LW

Hey guys! Has anyone heard anything? Any updates? When you go into Myuttyler student page, does it show your status as "complete"? I know someone that just had her status changed to today. Mine also says "complete" but I'm not sure how long it's been that way. Anybody have anything other than a "complete" status?
