TWU Spring 2013 Applicants!

U.S.A. Texas

Hello!:yeah:

I know it's pretty early to be starting this forum, but I just wanted to put my voice out there and see if there is anyone else out there hoping to join TWU's nursing program in the spring of 2013? What are you taking this semester (spring 2012), and when are you taking the TEAS-V entrance exam?

After this spring semester of taking microbiology, chemistry, developmental psychology, and statistics, I'll be ready to apply before the September 1st deadline! I'm hoping to take the entrance exam in the summer - probably June or July.

So yeah, I just wanted to see who else was out there!

I am turning down TWU Houston for UTHSC Houston because UTHSC-H is15 months instead of two years. I have not heard one program being any better than the other.

Omg, so I just got my acceptance email from uthealth today...I already accepted twu and started making plans....which one is better besides uthealth being a shorter program...any advice?

The time difference is why I'm going for UTHSC as well. I know it'll be tough, but I think it will be worth it.

So Tpluta and rn.christopher....you are choosing uthealth based on finishing faster? I wish I could just decide right now....so confused now..... :(

I would choose the fastest one as well.

For those of you who applied to both UTHSC and TWU, did you think the HESI A2 was harder or much different than the TEAS? I'm actually considering applying even though it would mean moving...

University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston NCLEX passing rate was higher than TWU.

UTHSC is 98.73%.

TWU is 96.68%

You can see the report about this schools and other schools in Texas on the following link:

It only says TWU Denton, so I believe this is a mix of the passing rate of both schools (Dallas and Houston), but I am not sure.

With a higher passing rate and a faster program, I would definitely choose UTHSC if I live in Houston, or if I had the flexibility to move to Houston. For the ones who have, who need, or who prefer to stay in Dallas area, TWU is definitely the best option.

That is my opinion :)

Pretty much. They both seem to be equally as good..I haven't really found anything that says one is better than the other. And I don't have kids or anything, so nothing holding me back from finishing sooner. Like I said before, I know it'll be tough. But I'm willing to go through with it if it means I graduate sooner.

Is Wednesday the day of the next batch of emails to hit the waiting list people?

Is Wednesday the day of the next batch of emails to hit the waiting list people?

The people who received the first batch of emails have till Wednesday 5pm to fax their response. With that said, I believe they will count how many people rejected (or did not answer) and send a new batch of emails. Good luck! :)

I know they both are great schools but I think I will be able to tough it out the 15 months.... I think I'm going to sleep on it and get my answer tomorrow...just still in shock right

IamPam2005.... I would definitely say the Teas V is harder for the math section than Hesi.. I used the study guide for the Hesi but the newest version and bought it off of Amazon and that helped me with the Vocab section since I didn't do so good the 1st time on that section.
