TWU Spring 2013 Applicants!

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hello!:yeah:

I know it's pretty early to be starting this forum, but I just wanted to put my voice out there and see if there is anyone else out there hoping to join TWU's nursing program in the spring of 2013? What are you taking this semester (spring 2012), and when are you taking the TEAS-V entrance exam?

After this spring semester of taking microbiology, chemistry, developmental psychology, and statistics, I'll be ready to apply before the September 1st deadline! I'm hoping to take the entrance exam in the summer - probably June or July.

So yeah, I just wanted to see who else was out there!

Today is the happiest day of my life!!!!I can't believe that I just got accepted to Houston campus. I 've never thought TWU would accept me base on my Stats, cause I see most people in here have much better stats than I am. I applied to PVAMU also, and I had high score on Hesi, but they put me on waiting list. Well, I am glad TWU takes me. Good luck to those of you who are waiting.

Here is my stat:

GPA: 3.7

TEAS: only 69 :banghead:

3 out of 4 prefs

Second degree ( Maybe this helps me)

Yes Liz. You were also in my AP's. We studied in the SLC a couple times together!-Kristi

I got accepted into the Dallas program and I am still in shock. However, one of my very dear friends did not get accepted. Needless to say I am happy and sad at the same time. Here are my stats:

GPA = 3.84

Post-baccalaurette

3/4 first attempt A's (A&P 1, A&P 2, and Microbiology)

68 TEAS

No Bump

This is crazzzzzzy!!!!! I am so excited and nervous. Looking forward to meeting you all. Good luck!

For those who did not get accepted, I am deeply saddened and don't give up. Keep chasing your dreams to make them a reality.

Congratulations! I haven't heard anything. My teas is a few below yours but my gpa is higher. :-\

I got my acceptance email for the Dallas campus yesterday! Congrats to all who were accepted thus far!

My stats:

3.58 GPA

4 out of 4 1st attempt A's

92 TEAS V

No TWU bump

No previous Bachelor's degree

Hope that gives some hope to folks applying for fall and beyond who may not have such a high GPA....

BTW, orientation for Dallas is Friday, December 7th from 8AM-4PM.

HI! I was accepted to the Houston campus, and am extremely pleased! I am still waiting to hear from one more school, but am excited TWU is a choice I have! Here are my stats:

GPA undergrad: 3.16

GPA prerequisites: 3.61

Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from Texas Tech

3/4 first attempt A's (B in A&P II lecture)

TWU bump (all sciences and history taken at Denton)

Currently enrolled in Pathophysiology at the Denton campus

I was accepted to Houston Campus but I am going to reject it so hopefully this opens a spot for somebody. Best wishes to those still waiting

Hey everyone. I just called the SON and asked if I could find out where I stand on the wait list. I feel nauseated. "You're about 50 down...sometimes we take a few, but I can't imagine it going that far down. This semester was way more competitive than last. I'm sorry, hon."

I feel so rejected. Guess I wasn't good enough. So I guess that's it...

Anyways, here were my stats:

TEAS - 86

Pre-req GPA - 3.79

2/4 first attempts (other two were B's)

No previous bachelor's

No TWU bump

Congrats to everybody that got in, and good luck to those of you that are waiting. I wish everyone the best in their journeys.

heyjude91,

I know how you feel. I'm feeling that way too:no:. My stats are pretty close to yours also. I think they weigh the first "A" attempts heavier. From what I can tell, the people who got in have 3 or 4 of them. Did you apply to any other schools? What is the SON? I want to call and find out where I am on the list!

I think they weight having a previous degree pretty heavily as well. And I agree about the bumps. Which makes me feel like reapplying would just be a waste of my time. I did. I got into UTMB in Galveston, and still waiting to hear back from UTHSC-Houston. I was really passionate about TWU, but at this moment, I'm kind of bitter towards it.

Call the Denton campus and ask to be directed to the SON. Ask to speak to Cheryl. Good luck.

I don't nderstand how you aren't in when someone with a 68 on the TEAS got in and had about the same gpa as you! I also didn't get anything, and it was my fourth time applying... It's devastating.
