Most universities offer "Great Religions of the World" or something like it in their philosophy department. I want a christian college that offers New Testament and Old Testament survey, among other things. I'd also like a college that approaches everything from a Christ centered standpoint! Thanks for the comment though! :)
I am looking to transfer to a nursing school in Texas! I am seeking my BSN. I am currently taking classes at Tarrant County College, and I want to attend a christian school so that I am offered different religious studies. I would like to hear from other nurses on here at the school they think is best! I have four choices that I am looking into:Texas Christian University
Mary-Hardin Baylor
Hardin Simmons (Patty Hanks Shelton School of Nursing)
Baylor University
I've heard great things about all, but I've also heard that Hardin Simmons doesn't develop critical thinking in their students, and that because it's in a small town students don't see a lot in their clinical rotations.
I welcome any advice! Thanks
While I am in NJ and cannot offer any advice on your question, I just wanted to say this..... good for you for having the courage to ask a question like this in an open public forum.
Too many people would be far too timid about their faith to ask this question and with a very straight forward explanation as to why when asked.
You may also want to check out Houston Baptist University in Houston and University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio. St. Thomas in Houston is getting ready to re-open their nursing program as well. You do realize that even though all of these 'faith based' schools have great nursing programs -- they're really expensive, right? Just saying. . .
My aunt and her best friend graduated from UMHB and they both had nothing but great things to say about the program. I visited her for a weekend and she gave me a tour of the campus, and I was pretty impressed. I don't have first hand experience there obviously, but it seems to be a great school. I've heard good things about TCU as well from a friend who goes there.
