A&M Round Rock 2nd degree 2015

U.S.A. Texas

Hi, my name is Stephanie and I want to start a thread for everyone applying to A&M Round Rock for Spring of 2015!

Yes! Still obsessively checking BAMF every day even though I know nothing will change for several more weeks. :-/

YAYAY!! I know, I am checking mine like a freak! I am dying to know...I have a count down going for October 1st (I mean she said beginning of October...). 44 days

I haven't even received a supplemental application yet, and I'm getting a bit worried. I know that TAMHSC said on their website that they don't start processing applications until all components (including the HESI) were in with them, and I did take my HESI three weeks ago...

But still. No emails, nothing. I could have sworn that they said during the info sessions that we'd get supplemental applications if we met all the prerequisites and minimum HESI scores, but maybe I'm just imagining things at this point. Argh!

I seem to remember seeing something about it possibly taking up to a few weeks after the deadline but I could be remembering wrong. Perhaps they got a flood of applications close to the deadline, and it is taking a while to review everyone's. Good luck! Keep us posted.

I would definitely call CON and find out. At the info session I went to they said they will be send a supplemental app to everyone who meets the min. criteria. keep us posted!

I re-checked their website and it said this:

"It can take up to 8 weeks after your NursingCAS application is verified before you receive an email directing you to the supplemental application portal. You should not expect to hear from the CON before August 1 (regardless of when you submitted your application). If you have not heard from the CON within 4 to 6 weeks of the NursingCAS deadline, please email our admissions contact or call the College of Nursing office. "

So I guess I could just wait a few more weeks..

By the way, how did you both feel about the NursingCAS application itself? All in all, I wasn't too disappointed with it. It was a little tedious putting every single one of my grades in, but the application was processed smoothly enough.

The only pet peeve I had about it was the essay submission. The directions didn't indicate a word or character limit, so I wrote up a beautiful essay that was several pages long on Microsoft Word. But when I went to submit the essay, I think NursingCAS only gave me a 3,000-character limit (something like that). So I really had to condense the essay to a part where I didn't like submitting it.

I felt the same way. It was hard to fit the whole experience into a single page essay.

I agree. My biggest complaint is that there aren't enough schools that accept Hesi. I don't want to study for another test, assuming I don't get in (which is negative, I realize). Also, I HATED entering in every single class I'd ever taken...that was annoying for sure

Hi everyone! I found your thread a few weeks ago but didn't comment. I've been searching for it for days and finally found it. I have also applied to A&M Round Rock as well as Texas Tech. I actually applied last year to A&M but wasn't excepted so I'm trying again. I received my blue card from the background check last week, but like you, I constantly check my email for something from them.

YAY!!!! I'm glad you decided to comment! Congrats on getting your blue card :)

What were your Hesi/science GPA last year and this year?

My Hesi score last year was a 92 and my science GPA was a 3.8. Unfortunately I went down on my Hesi this year to a 91.2. I was told I needed to bring it up at least 2 points. My science GPA is the same this year since I'm finished with my prereq's. I'm not too hopeful about getting in, but you never know. I added some things to my application like a CNA certification and volunteer work at St. David's. It really just all depends on the applicants for the year.
