U.S.A. Tennessee

I know there are a lot of 2012 hopefulls chatting but unfortunately I have just started on my journey and hope to start taking my pre-req's this summer. Anyone else in the same boat?

How was the test I had a couple of peopl in my anp 2 class talk about it and it was almost discouraging to here them describe it

pcarter2324, the test is challenging. The study guide is really helpful, but you will need to brush up on Physics. Practice on timing yourself too. I ran out of time on one of the sections and didn't do so well on that portion. I prayed, took deep breaths before taking the test and chewed on some gum. I find that I test better while chewing gum. Every little bit helps. Although my score wasn't the greatest, I did pass and I thank God for that. Good luck!

Hi everyone. I am trying to get an idea of how likely I am to be accept this spring 2013 with the following entrance scores: B's in A&P I II and Micro, NLN score of 132, and a 2.7 GPA. I am a pharmacy tech and have worked as a home health aid. I'm getting anxious waiting for their decision and my ranking. Anyone have similar scores as mine that were admitted? Thanks!

It looks like your index score is 51.9 from the info you provided. You may want to call in about a month to see if they will give you the lowest index score they accepted for Spring 2013. I will not say how likely or unlikely you are to be accepted....remember anything is possible!! Stay positive.

Hey Nikki, how far along are you in the SW program now? I have just been accepted into the evening/weekend program. We had orientation last night and it was so overwhelming. I work full time and one of the instructors mentioned cutting our hours if we had full time jobs. That is not an option for me. Do you know of any classmates who work full time and actually pass?

Nikki, please disregard my question. I found the post I was looking for.

Hi, everyone! I just wanted to join this feed and tell a little bit about myself and my journey. I graduated from the University of Memphis in 2009 with my Bachelors in Psychology. While attending UofM, I realized I wanted to pursue a nursing degree as well, I have taken all classes, aside from A&P I&II. I will be taking these in the Spring/summer 2014. I will be applying for the Spring 2015 program. Also, I just wanted to get an idea of price or the average of each semester? Thank you and Im excited to have a place to come to for help and advice!

Nikki, I unfortunately can't private message you yet, but I have been reading your posts on here for a long time. I was accepted in the program at Southwest TN CC and at Northwest MS CC. I don't know which program to go with. Southwest is closer to my house, but the Northwest building is so nice and the people were much more friendly there than what I ran in to at the Union Campus. I couldn't find anywhere to park nor the right buildings to go in to. I felt a bit like when I'd ask people around campus the one day I was there anything they seemed annoyed. Did you enjoy southwest or do you recommend a different program?

Congratulations on being accepted into both schools. That is awesome!! You should be really proud of yourself. Now, I cannot recommend any other schools since Southwest is the only Nursing school I have attended. However, I have heard wonderful things about Northwest too. My current clinical instructor is a full time instructor at Northwest and she is very helpful and knowledgeable.

If you are in the Nursing program at Southwest, parking is definitely the least of your worries. The Nursing building sits apart from the other buildings on campus and the parking lot is not shared with tons of students (I think it's the nursing students and EMT students only) Also, you will only interact with other Nursing students when on campus.

I am still attending Southwest and I am in my last semester, thank goodness!!! I can't say that I truly enjoyed it all the time but I wouldn't change my experience for the world and I would actually do it all over again if I had to. I am sure whatever you decide will be a good choice as long as you give 110% of yourself and prepare to work very hard for the next 2 years of your life. But hey....what's 2 years? Nothing!! The time goes by so fast.

Thank you for your encouragement Nikki! I've been following your posts for like 2 years and you have always given sound advice! I am definitely going to pray about. Congratulations on your last semester!!!

@Loeki25: I know it has been a while but Have you been accepted into the program yet or did you go with another school? If you were accepted at Southwest, what index score did you get in with?
