Who's taken the teas v?

Nursing Students TEAS

And what did you think? I took it last week and feel like I was prepared for the Math and Reading portions by using the study guide but I really struggled with the Science portion. For me it was a lot of Chemistry and it's been a while since I've taken that course. I met the minimum requirements in each category for my program but it's the first year they're using the TEAS V (Last year they used the NET) so I'm not really sure what a competitive score is yet. Anyway I know there are different entrance tests and versions of the TEAS everyone is taking so I was just wondering how people felt about version V.

I took it 3 days ago. Total score was a 90% which put me into the 98th percentile. All I studied was the ATI study guide. It was helpful since I haven't had any science or math classes in over 10 years. There are some questions that are not in the study guide but only a few of them. Some of the questions are not "explicitly" in the study guide but if you use some deductive reasoning you can figure it out. Over all not the hardest test I've taken but it does require some intensive studying.

I just took the TEAS V last night and the science section was VERY difficult to say the least. I had the ATI Study Guide and it did not prepare me for any of the science questions at all! So needless to say, I'm sure I did rather poorly on the test overall sense the science section was the largest part of it. :crying2:

Hi LadyPirate,

I felt the same way when I got done with my test about 10 days ago but I ended up doing better than I thought...so have hope!

I applied for the TWU program for this fall as well. I just took the exam last night and did rather poorly on it due to the fact the study guide did little to prepare me for it. The science section of my test barely had anything from the study guide. I will be lucky to have gotten two or three of the questions correct!:sniff:

Hope and the Grace of God! Thank You Jodeface!

I took mine yesterday. I did well, except on the science. It is a lot of information that if you don't know, will be hard to memorize in a few weeks. I only studied for a week and half and made 86%. The math is simply fractions and ratios, the English was easy and the reading was easier than the study guide. Definitely get the ATI study guide!! It's the way to go.

Hi all! I am taking my Teas v exam on Saturday morning and I am nervous as hell! I have been intensely studying for the past week and half and have done well on the practice exams in the book. I am a bit rusty with the grammar portion and reading but overall I've been doing well. Does anyone have any last minute tips or if you'd like to share your strategies for studying that would be helpful as well. One last thing...what score do you think is the lowest you can get that would still be considered a good score? I'm thinking that a 75 is probably the lowest for this version considering it is way more difficult that the IV version. Thanks all and wish me luck!

Study the parts of the cell and what they do. Study Boyle's law, know which organ is both exocrine and endocrine, there was one checmical equation to balance on my test, know that that protons are positive and electrons are negative, study covalent and isotonic bonds, they give you the periodic table to answer these questions...The english and math is easy. You should do well. In grammer, just read the sentence and if it sounds right, it probably is. I got a 100% on that part. Math know fractions (adding, subtracting, dividing and multiplying) and ratios, also know order of operation covered in the study guide. Hope that helps!

Hope and the Grace of God! Thank You Jodeface!

How did you do LadyPirate?

Tweety,

Study organs and what they do and how they are classified...I had a confusing question about endocrine and exocrine too. Also, brush up on photosynthesis as it relates to cyanobacteria, and osmosis, diffusion vs facilitated diffusion and active transport and solutions/solute stuff. I had some chemistry give me trouble having to do with oxidation reduction basics, Krebs cycle, how much ATP is produced aerobically and anaerobically and types of bonds. There were some mole questions with chemical reations. I don't want to say too much more because I got edited once on here for saying a question I kind of remembered from the test but I think this is vague enough but still hopefully helpful! It's a hard test to study for because it basically gauges your general knowledge covering such a broad base of science. Good luck and let us know how you do. I think the hardest part was just staring at a computer screen for 2.5 hours straight without a break!

I agree, it is hard sitting still that long without a break. I read on here before I took the test to just chill out the night before. It really did help! I didn't study at all, and just relaxed!

Ohhh dear, I'm even more afraid lol. I have studied the ATI testing book almost in it's entirety and I don't think it covered some of the things you mentioned. Was the version you took 4 or 5? I am whipping out my micro and ap book as we speak smh. Thanks a bunch for the head up, I truly appreciate it!
