Texas Wesleyan CRNA 2017

Nursing Students SRNA

Published

Hi everyone! I am new to allnurses.com, so my apologies in advance if I've posted this topic elsewhere on the website. I submitted my application and all supporting documents at the beginning of the month to Texas Wesleyan's CRNA program for the entering class of 2017. Has anyone applied this cycle received an interview date or any feedback from the school? Thanks in advance!

I have applied as well and the last I heard is that the interviews wont be done until fall. At least that was what I was told when I selected the California clinical site was that they don't interview until way later in the year.

I'm in nursing school now and will be considering CRNA at Wesleyan in the future. I would love to hear about your successes and observations a little further down the road. Specifically, your background and what you experienced in the application/approval process would be helpful. I have been discussing the challenges I've read about the CRNA programs to try and prepare my family. They are supportive and I hope having personal testimonies will help us be proactive and prepare. Best of luck to you!

Thanks for responding; according to Texas Wesleyan's website they interview for the Texas and Louisiana clinical sites between May and October, and then the other sites subsequently up until January. Did you apply to any Texas and/or Louisiana clinical sites?

PBryce good luck with nursing school! I haven't been accepted to CRNA school so I'm not sure I am qualified to give any sound advice lol! As far as preparation for CRNA school, I would suggest getting into an ICU setting as a staff nurse as quickly as possible after becoming an RN. To my understanding, all CRNA schools require at least between 1-2 years of ICU experience prior to applying. Also, all schools require a Bachelor's degree in either Nursing or a related field. My first degree is in Neuroscience, so that meets the requirement for some schools. If you can get these steps started you'll be well on your way to becoming a qualified applicant for CRNA school. Good luck to you!

Hey guys, just seeing if anyone has heard anything yet about interviews for August 2017 start date? My application says complete and received and I applied for Texas clinical locations. Anyone hear anything yet?

I applied back in March right when it opened. Priority deadline for apps closes on September 15th. smilealot; I was told that Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (the CA site in Colton) has always interviewed in October. This last year they went last because the director had a scheduling conflict, but it is expected to be October again. I was told to wait to hear for an October date after the priority deadline closes. I do know that anyone who meets the requirements gets an interview, so don't worry if you haven't heard anything yet! I was told Texas sites usually interview in January.

I haven't heard back at all yet, but I applied to Texas sites. Keeping my fingers crossed! Thanks for the info everyone!

So my comment was deleted for putting a name in it. Contact the student advisor, the one that is the only person there but I can not write her name here. I am sure you know who I am talking about. She is always willing to answer questions and help out. Again, if you meet the requirements you WILL get an interview, so don't sweat it!

When I talked to the advisor about a month ago she stated that interviews for the Colton, CA site will take place Nov 17th. October would be better though! I was accepted into another program across the country, but it would be easier (albeit more expensive tuition-wise) to stay home!

Congrats on being accepted!!

I haven't talked to her in quote a while about the interview dates. Your info is newer than mine, and that's pretty specific! They are only doing 1 day of interviews? I'll touch base with her today and see what she says.

November 17th is the interview day for Arrowhead Regional. She is going through GPAs now and will be emailing by the end of next week. She said your GPAs are the sole factor of getting an interview where you request. They are only interviewing 10 people at Arrowhead. Wait for those emails!!
