What online NP school accept BSN's with middle of the road GPAs??

I would apply to all, or at least 5 programs in your area. I applied during my last semester to 4 schools and was accepted to 2 of them. It's a supply and demand kind of thing. Many of my friends who have so-so (3.0-3.5) GPA's have been accepted. You may also see how much weight the school puts on GPA as opposed to letters of intent, references, ect...

3.39 Nursing GPA (also last 60 hours of college)

2.98 overall GPA. I have previous bachelors and due to the amount of hours it would take nearly a year of college to pull that up to a 3.0. And would it really make me more appealing to colleges? I would say prob not since I'd be taking classes to fluff my grades that aren't really related to nursing...

I work with 2 people that got into an NP program with 2.7 overall GPAs... Just wondering what other schools out there offer acceptance with lower overall GPAs BUT that are less than $1000 a credit hour :) I've emailed several schools...interested to see what they say back.

I would do some post-bacc classes int he sciences to pump your GPA up, not fluff though.

If this was PA/med school we wouldn't have this discussion, they leave no room for middle of the road GPAs. Just improve yourself. I did the same thing with post bacc classes after my BSN at a local CC

Herzing or Keiser? You may be able to take a few credits hours before being officially accepted to improve your GPA.

Thank you for your suggestions!

Unfortunately with the number of hours I have (200 total) I would have to take about 2 years of full time school with a 4.0 to bring my gpa up to just a 3.0. Kind of a pickle I am in.

Chamberlain and South University offer conditional acceptance to students with an overall GPA less than 3.0. I do not know much about either program.

If you have 200 cr with a gpa of 2.98 per your earlier post, then one 4 cr class with an A would get you to 204 cr with a gpa of 3.0. Two easy 3 cr night or online classes would push you to 3.01.

Oh, and many programs consider your last xx hrs when calculating your gpa. You can research the programs you are interested in and findout how they calculate the gpa as well.

Hi Sashy,

You might want to apply to South university. I personally know someone with 2.8 GPA who was accepted by South. Now, i do not know much about that program but it is something you can find out from them and also by checking around the website here. Call them and apply…based on what you said about taking 200 credits already.., if i were in your shoes, i won't go around trying to bring your GPA up by taking more classes, that's costly and time wasting. I am pretty sure some schools consider applicants on a case by case basis, and might give your application a try. So, call them up, ask questions and apply…good luck..:)

Hopefully none but I am sure there are some inferior programs that will. There are no quality programs that will.

Invest in yourself and re-take some science classes then apply to some quality programs.
