I have an interview August 5 for entrance into Grand Canyon University's online acute-care nurse practitioner program. Has anybody else interviewed for this program, started this program, or is planning on starting this program? Can you tell me about your experience with the program?

Hello, I hope your I interview went well! I had my interview on July 29th and it went well. They told me I would know by August 5....I was accepted to the post-MSN program because I already have an MSN, which is from GCU.

My interview went well, they had me write a small paper on the future of healthcare and how a nurse practitioner will fit into the role. They said we know by the end of the week so I'm now waiting.

Hey there! I just wanted to know if you heard back from GCU?
Yes, I was excepted into the Spring 2014 acute-care nurse practitioner program. I'm happy I got accepted, but I'm bum that I wasn't accepted into the fall classes and that I have to wait six months to be able to start.
I'm so happy, I just got the phone call today. Somebody decided not to start their nurse practitioner program for fall 2013 which begins next week, and I was first on the waiting list. That means I'm in I'm starting school next week for my acute care nurse practitioner!!!

I'm debating between two BSN to MSN programs that are online and one is GCU. How did you like GCU? The other is Capella if anyone has an opinion about either school I would love to hear about it.
I did my MSN @ GCU. I did the Leadershio in Healthcare Systems track. I really loved the program and had no hesitation applying for the post-MSN Acutr Care NP program. I would recommend them to anyone.

Congrats on your acceptance! I was accepted into the FNP program for spring 2014. Is your program all online? I thought I read that in one of your other posts. With my program, we have to go on campus one evening a week for about 4 hours. I am excited to start. I too was hoping to start in the fall 2013 but I'm good with Spring. Just excited to get started.

About a week after I signed my enrollment agreement I received a call stating that the program was "updated " and I would need to sign a new enrollment agreement....no problem I thought. The only difference I noticed was the course numbers but I had this nagging feeling that something was not quite right. I emailed my enrollment advisor to request a new proposed schedule. I just received the new schedule yesterday after requesting it for 2 weeks. To my surprise the so-called "updates" tacked on another year and 3 months to the program....not sure when they were planning to tell me this since it was like pulling teeth to discover this info. Well I decided to look into another program that I can complete by 2015.
