Hi Everyone! I was just hired for the 2014-15 school year as the new school nurse of an 1100 student high school. I am looking for information regarding what students are required to have on file regarding their school health records (i.e. immunizations, etc) Is there a website I can refer to in my state (IL) with the current requirements that I can become familiar with before the start of the new school year? Hello. I would highly recommend you visit the webpage for the health dept. in IL. I work in Kansas as a school nurse, get get a lot of info from the KS. Health Department. I also look at the Johnson County Health Dept. website, as I work in JOCO! You should find a lot of info from your local health department regarding requirement for high school. I found this link for you...

Congrats! i am a school nurse at a high school with 1750 students. It depends on your school district of what is kept in the health record. We keep a health room visit card, any doctor's notes with restrictions, incident/injury reports, hearing/vision screenings, emergency action plans for chronic illnessess (if they have one), health status updates etc etc. High school students are fun!:yes:
