RIC Students: Students Who Applied for Fall 2008

U.S.A. Rhode Island

Published

Hi everyone, my name is Chris. I am a student at RIC and I just finished my freshman year at RIC after doing 2 years at CCRI. I was wondering if there are any other nursing students from RIC on here and if anyone else put in an application to get into the program for the Fall 08'. I was told that letters of acceptance or deferment start going out around June 1st and I'm getting nervous waiting, I did pretty well GPA wise but I know its really competitive and this is my first time applying. Anybody else out there waiting?

Chris-

If you ever want to study this coming semester let me know. I have already taken Micro and know the ins and outs of it....it's a very tough class....so maybe I could offer you some assistance there. I'll be in Nursing 220 and 222 also, which should be a decent amount of work....and I find that study groups help me too.

If you have an AIM account let me know...my sn is LEC1284.

Congrats again!

Thanks that great. My AIM is cjcsoon2brn. I was just wondering, in your opinion do you think Micro. is more or less difficult then Anatomy, and is Micro. more or less difficult then Physiology? I have been told that out of Anatomy, Physiology and Micro. that most students find Micro. the easiest (still very difficult though). Personally, I found Intro. to Biology easy, both Chem. I and II easy and Physiology easy but I found Anatomy very difficult. When I say easy though I mean easy with a good amount of studying. I was just curious.

To be completely honest with you, I found Micro the hardest. This is only because of the unknowns in laboratory. Anatomy, Phys, Chems all required lots of work but were doable. I felt like with Micro, I could do all the work in the entire world and still do terrible. I ended up with a B- only because I got my last 4 unknowns correct. There is nothing easy about it, but I wish I had known someone who had taken it before simply because the lab is VERY self directed and the instructors do not help you. We can chat about it and I'll let you know what to look for, and what to be cautious of.
