Withdrawing from a course?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello!

So I was originally on a pre-med track. After enrolling for classes this semester, I decided to switch over to a nursing track. I plan on switching schools and applying to their nursing program.

The issue is organic chemistry. I'm currently enrolled in it, and not doing so hot. I could probably keep my grade at a C, but I have a 3.95 gpa and I don't want to ruin it. Since organic chem isn't needed for nursing, will it look bad if I drop it?

This will be my first withdraw.

Organic chem was required for my BSN. Check the prereqs for the school you plan to apply to.

I'm meeting with an advisor in a few weeks, but both schools I am looking at only require one semester of gen chem.

Contact the school you plan to apply to and ask them. I would not base withdrawing from a class on a message board. I doubt it will hurt, but "doubt" means next to nothing.
