what laptop is good for nursing school

I'm starting nursing school on january for my associate and my laptop (hp) is not functionally normally. So soon I will need a laptop replacement. I would like to hear some opinions of which laptop will be good for nursing school. Also, when writing your careplans, do you use microsoft templates (microsoft doc, powerpoints etc)? Any information will be appreciated :)thank you for your time .

Love my Macbook Air. I bought it in 2012 the semester before I started nursing school. It's had a rough time with me. I drop it regularly, and I've (cough.. my son) has spilled liquids on the keyboard twice. It still works perfectly. It's super skinny and light. It fits in pretty much any bag I want to use. I can stretch the battery 7 hours still after 2.5 years. Base model is fine for word processing and web surfing. I even play processor heavy games and use photoshop without problems.
