Should I take Essential/Gen Chem over the summer?

I'm considering taking Essentials of Gen Chem over a 4 week summer semester. It's like an introduction to gen chem I guess? It's gen chem for pre-nursing sutdents, basically. This is the description for the course:

"A brief presentation of the essentials of chemistry and their applications to inorganic chemistry."

I have not taking any chemistry course since high school and I'm 32 now. So far, I've taken A&P 1 and 2 and Microbiology, so I have some basic chemistry knowledge, nothing too in depth. I also work full time.

For someone like me, do you recommend taking it over 4 weeks in the summer? Or am I better off taking it over a full Fall semester?

Personally, I have taken a science course (microbiology) over the summer (6 weeks), and i would NEVER do it again. Talk about information overload...

I thought that gen chem was the hardest prereq. I would not recommend a rushed version.

I'm taking Chem now and it's the only science I'd recommend taking over the summer. It's not like A&P with a ton of memorization. It's mostly math so hardly any memorization!

I'm taking a similar chemistry class...it's an "intro" to general chemistry and it's the easiest science class I've had. I strongly think this class should have been a pre-req to general biology at my school. It would have made gen bio so much easier for me. I've already take gen bio, ap 1, microbiology, and I'm in ap 2 now. I've never taken chemistry in high school and I have no struggles in this class. I am a strong math student, though, so that has helped.
