Question about the Point System...

Points vary by school and are usually awarded for high grades in certain courses; previous experience; completing courses beyond only pre reqs; high overall GPA; high entrance exam scores; etc..

The only way to know for sure is to find out what your school awards points for and then do the math or ask a nursing faculty adviser.

Thank you for responding, I went a while back to an orientation and they taught us how to calculate our points but I don't remember how I guess I will have to go back... *^_^* In my selected college they say u have to have at least 26 points for them to even consider you....

As the previous poster mentioned, different nursing programs base their admissions decisions on different types of point systems with different criteria.

Some schools grant points to students who live in the county where the school is located. Other schools grant points for living within 50 miles of the school's service area, overall GPA, prerequisite GPA, CNA certificate, entrance exam scores, paid healthcare experience, unpaid volunteer experience, and so forth.
