Some programs have different prereqs

Common ones are micro, physio, anatomy, English, intro chem, math, psychology,

Some programs don't do waiting list, they may go by lottery point system. Mine did.

The teas test must be within passing or above otherwise , you must wait 2-3 years to apply again if the teas test wasn't passing first time around.

Try to do well on prereq courses the first time you take it. Take it seriously. Some programs can be strict with repeats and how many times it was taken.

As for the teas I was recommended to take it after having micro, physio and anatomy. I've heard of some taking the teas without completing those 3 but maybe they know stuff. If you're not in a rush I suggest you to take it with having exposure of the material.

LVN program, private nonprofit school, 2004 - no prerequisites needed. Applicants needed a high school diploma or GED and a passing score on the TABE entrance exam.

LPN-to-ASN bridge program, private for-profit school, 2009 - no prerequisites needed. Applicants needed an active LPN license and a passing score on the NET test, which was the entrance exam used by that particular school back then. However, previous community college coursework was accepted for transfer credit, leaving me with three corequisite courses to take at this school.

Online RN-to-BSN program, 2014 - I needed biochemistry and statistics. I was allowed to take them as corequisite courses alongside the nursing coursework.

Overall I've taken A&P I and II, English comp I and II, introductory psychology, sociology, human growth & development, theater appreciation, speech, micro, two nutrition courses, American literature, and a whole host of other courses I do not remember.

My school is on a points system, which is nice because there's no wait list, but awful because if your points are low sometimes there's nothing you can do about it.

They *require* Anatomy and Physiology I, Intro to Psych, and English Comp to apply.

I've taken A&P I and II, Into to Psych, Into to Sociology, English Comp, College Algebra, Chemistry, Interpersonal Communications, Med Law and Ethics, Medical Terminology, and I'll need another chemistry course, Advanced Physiology, and Public Speaking, in addition to my nursing courses, before I graduate.

I currently go to a Community College in NJ and they require me to have the classes listed below.

After I complete these classes I can transfer to a nursing program to my liking. BUT,

GOOD thing is Rutgers has a program at our Community college where we can obtain a Rutgers degree (bsn) after we obtain our associates degree first. So that's cool.

But most nursing school in NJ or PA area requires you to have at least a C or better in all classes and a minumum GPA of 3.0, (3.3 at some schools)

Well I have needed: Statistics, oral communication (speech), a transferable english class, chemistry, anatomy, physiology and microbiology. Some schools require psychology, nutrition, etc. Take the TEAS test before you apply to schools, I believe scores are only applicable for 100 days. Good luck.
