Pre-Req's online?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

I am currently taking classes at the school this semester, but next semester my hubby will be gone ALL semester for work related training and I can go with him, but need to stay in school also!

Is there anyway to take some of the pre-req's online?? (Anyone know of a reputable way to do this?)

Many of us have taken pre-req courses online.

You are in Colorado? Boy are you lucky! The most popular school on the forums for online classes is in Colorado.

Here is the link: http://www.ccconline.org/

You apply to a "home school" in the system. Your transcript will not say anything about the class being "online". Since all of the schools are fully accredited, you should have no trouble transferring credits. Check with your local nursing program to be sure.

Check out the Distance learning Forums here for more information.

Hey Jack - I am taking all of my pre-reqs 100% online through ccconline - starting with A&P I and Human Growth & Development on the 29th. It's set up through the school you are attending - it's a little more expensive, but not bad, and you get the credits through the school of your choice (mine is OJC). I'll keep you informed of how they go - spring semester will be A&P II and Microbiology for me the same way. Clear off some of your PMs so that I can respond to you - it's blocking me because yours is full. :(

My big problem with CCC online is still having to go in for labs! (At least thats how it was described to me!?!?)

I'm taking a BIO online through the comm college that I will be doing the RN program through. Maybe your school offers these?

They call mine, "distance learning"

Good Luck!

My big problem with CCC online is still having to go in for labs! (At least thats how it was described to me!?!?)

This is the first I heard of an on-campus lab requirement. A lot of folks here have taken the Microbiology class through CCC. They had to buy a lab kit complete with microscope and baterial cultures. They did all the labs in their own homes; never went on campus.

For anybody else who's interested, that is correct. My guidance counselor advised me that everything for labs would be sent to my house and I would do them all at home as long as I was taking them through CCConline. The college itself offers a program where the bookwork is at home and labs are on campus, but CCConline allows 100% of the work to be done at home. Hope that helps to clarify any confusion. ;)
