Over 30 w/child looking to be a nurse

Hello.

There are so many wonderful threads, I hope to read most of them. I just turned 32 a few days and am looking to start a career as a nurse (hopefully). I graduated in 2013 with my BA in HR Management. I had no prior HR experience, so it's been a nightmare trying to break into that field, even with a degree. My best friend is currently taking her pre-reqs for nursing and mentioned that I should look into it as well. I love helping people, only I fear the math lol. I'm not that great when it comes to math; however, I do work hard and I know if I study hard, I will pass these classes. I'm looking to start off with ADN from a community college, then actually get into the field and take online classes to obtain higher degrees. I do have one child, but her dad helps out even though we aren't together. I recently moved in with my parents in hopes of making this dream come true. Anyone have any advice? Any get real comments? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

There is hardly any math required for nursing. You'll most likely have to get through some statistics and basic college math.

It sounds like you have put a lot of thought into this. You can get tutoring or help with the math. I applaud your ambition and having already taken the steps toward this goal.

All I can say is good luck, and stay on top of the research as far as knowing what you need to get what you desire. Good for you for taking these first steps!
