Nutrition and Patho

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

This summer because I am on placed on the waiting list at one the schools that I applied I still have to take one pre req. They are requiring me to take Patho however due to financial aid regulations I have to take another class. I do not have any other classes that I am required to take so I was thinking about taking Nutrition or Interactive Communication (which is communication in an healthcare setting) because these are classes that go towards your BSN degree. Has any every taken Patho with any of the other two classes? Is it wise for me take Patho being that it is being taken in summer with either of the two? I have to get a C or better so I do not want to be consumed with the other class even though it can transfer into the nursing program. Is Nutrition or Patho difficult?

Thanks to you all for your ongoing support

I have not taken either class, but next fall I am taking Nutrition and A&P 2. I have heard from several people that nutrition is really hard, and even my advisor said that is going to be a difficult semester. Maybe I will make it through.

It depends alot on your instructor and what he/she wishes to stress in the curriculum. My nutrition teacher did not focus on what vitamins/minerals are good for or found in at all. Instead, she had us doing a number of case studies.

I wish I could be that lucky, but I have heard all about this class and it gets deep into the Citric Acid Cycle, and other parts of chemistry. I havent had Chemestry? :uhoh21:

Wow, I guess it would depend on your prof. B/c Nutrition by far has been my EASIEST SHMESIEST class ever!!!! I'm so glad I took it along side w/Micro!! B/c I despise Micro. Nutrition is super interesting to me as well b/c we learn all about essential nutrients, vitamins, minerals etc. We also track our eating and see what we are lacking. LOVE IT!!! Do you know any of the teachers that would be teaching it?? You might want to see if you know a person who has taken it with them and get their advice??

Dear Blessone,

I didn't find patho or nutrition that hard. Plus if your school is like mine, they don't come with a lab...yay! Enjoy!
