i'm taking it! we're already into chapter 5 (which is all about lipids) and it's just starting to get more interesting. we also have a project where we have to write down everything we eat or drink (excluding water) and calculate our caloic intake and all of that fun stuff...i like the class.

Are you using a Dietary Analysis CD? I am in Chapter 4 (Carbs) and have started tracking this week. Good luck to you! :wink2:

Thank you!!! I appriciate your encouragement. I think it would be much harder to get into this stuff if I didnt love it soooo much. I dont even like reading most things, but I do my class material.

Today we went over cholestrol and how much your liver makes per second. I was like I am surprised any extra cholesterol hasnt killed us all.

HI!!! A few weeks ago I finished monitoring my food intake for my semester long project. That was an arduous experience because you have to be exact (1 cup of blah, which has blah in it). I thought the Diet CD would be a lot of help and to a degree it is since it will store and report data, but it was no help in inputing foods it did not already have in its database. At one point I wanted to stop eating!!! :spin: Anyway, that is over now and so I am in the analysis phase (doing calculations).

I have had two quizzes and submitted a few homework assignments, essays, and case studies, all of which I have done well. I am continuing to work on my project and gearing up for my midterm exam. Is the semester half way over yet?

How is everyone else doing? I noticed we have a lot of lurkers but not many posters. Share your pain, Lurkers.

I'm in Nutrition, too! It's one of my online classes. It's pretty interesting. Our final grade will consist of 5 exams and 4 projects. We had to do a pyramid comparison, and another project where we took a food label an analzyed it. Next is our abstract. We have to find a nutrition article and analyze it. Our dietary analysis is the final project. We're pretty fortunate at our campus because the dietary analysis software is loaded on the computers in our Academic Support Center. We've had 2 tests and 2 projects so far. I got a 90 and 97 on the tests and 100's on both projects.

You've had a lot of blah this semester, hu? Sounds like it would be a helpful project. I havent had any projects but I have learned a lot anyway. I really like the class but it has been a chalenge. I really didnt expect it to be that much.
Keep up the good work. :spin:

Sounds like your class is very interesting also. I really dont know how you make those grades with the load you are taking. How much longer do you have till you apply for the program?

I have to apply for the Fall '07 program by February 1st. I am waiting until I have completed this semester so I can get my extra quality points for Micro and A&P II. They base your points on your GPA and NLN scores, primarily, but your 3 science courses give you a much bigger boost in overall points. I got a 124 on my NLN and I have a 4.0, so that gives me a pretty good head start.

To be honest, I don't know how I do it, lol. I try to make really good use of every minute of every day. There are times when I get NO sleep. But, when I have an off week (meaning, not as many tests/assignments, lol) I make up for my lack of sleep. I also have great study skills. I learned from my mother and retained some from high school. I'm not going to sit here and say that I don't have bad times. I get overwhelmed and have been known to sit down and have a good cry, then resume my work, lol.
