Nursing school! Do you think i have a chance ?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Lately I have been starting to get really stressed out because I feel like I won't get into nursing school. I'm just going to explain my situation, I want to know what kind of a

chance you think I have !

Min high school I had practically straight A's. In my junior year of high school I went full time PSEO. My first two semesters were a little rough. My gpa went down a lot. My first semester was 3.25 but after my second semester my college gpa was at 2.77. My current gpa now is 2.97. I am taking 19 credits right now and am feeling very good with how they are going. I am trying to do the best I can this semester to raise my gpa more. Also to add my high school gpa is at 3.5 right now.

I have finished ALL of the prerequisites for nursing & they All will transfer to the college I will apply to.

In may of 2016 I will be graduating with an Associates degree from college and then in June I will graduate from high school.

Im not sure if that looks good or not. Applying to a nursing program straight out of college with an Associate degree.

Do you think I have a fair shot at getting in.

Nursing programs have different requirements.

The nursing programs in my area only care about your grades in your prereqs and your TEAS score. I think many programs require some form of an entrance exam, whether it's the TEAS or HESI.

But your high school GPA and previous degrees would not be a factor in how competitive your application would be in my area.

It's dependent upon the type of school you are applying to. We can't tell you what school will do this or that, or what they are looking for in the students they accept. Each school weighs things differently.

Welcome! Your thread has been moved to our Pre-Nursing Student forum to generate more responses. Good luck with your attempt to be admitted to nursing school.

Most programs will not care about prior degrees. What they care about is Science course GPAs for there prereqs(AP, MICRO, etc..) General pre req GPA, and then whatever entrance exam score you get(HESI, TEAS). Most programs will not give extra points or give a second look at additional degrees.
