My hesi a2 experience 13/2/17

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

This is my second time taking the hesi a2. The first I took it I made a 68 on biology, 78 on reading comprehension, 74 on vocabulary, 80 on maths and 88 on a&of section. So my school requires students to make at least a 75 or above for the ASN program and 80 above for the BSN program. I was not prepared at all for the hesi a2 when I took it the first time and I didn't score high on most sections. Took the test today and I made Biology 100%: it was really simple questions. Basic material. 88 on Reading Comprehension, and sadly I scored a 70 on the vocabulary. The vocabulary section was the hardest. No book I studied or Quizlet help with his section and I'm worried I won't get into nursing school because of the vocabulary section. My gpa is a3.76. I make mostly A's and few B'a in my core classes. Do you think I'all get into the BSN program with a 74 or 70 on Vocabulary section? Feel free to ask any questions for the HESI A2

Did you get an overall score of 80, since you said BSN programs require that much minimum? Or is it minimum of 80 on each subsection?

My overall score was a 87 but the school require me to get a 80 or above on all sections.

How did you study for A&P & what was your score?

I used the PocketPrep app for the vocabulary section (and the entire test). It was $15 and very helpful. Similar words to the actual test. I scored a 100 on the vocabulary section. A few words I just knew from doing medical transcription for a year but that app definitely helped in this section as well the others.
