Microbiology Fall 2006

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Starting a new thread and hopefully someone in the know will make it a sticky ;)

Got an 84 in my first Micro exam last week. Not what I wanted (I had a 4.0 going into this semester), but considering the class average was 71 I'll take it and move on. Lab mid-term grades aren't back yet though and that one has me worried.

How's everyone else doing?

Wonderful! Congrats on a great job! :smiley_aa

Yeah, I am pretty excited. Now I get to kick back and enjoy my holidays and have that behind me. Thoughts and prayers for the rest of you who aren't done yet. You can do it!

DONE! At 3:35pm today, I finished my last final as a pre-nursing major...yay for Micro being done!

The test was hard, but not as hard as I thought. I'm expecting to come out with a B or C. That should give me a B in the class.

Now I get to put in my nursing school application. There's not really much question as to whether I'll get in, as my GPA is high and at my school it's all about GPA. So, now I get a 4 month break because the new nursing class doesn't start till March. Whew!

Best wishes to those finishing up Micro...keep it strong till the end! Keep us all posted on how it's going!

Congrats that is awesome what a great feeling that must be!

I am just lurking on the this thread I start micro in the spring it will be my last pre nursing class too so I can't wait to make this same post!!!

I won't be able to apply until the fall for a spring admission though which stinks I 'll have a long break to recharge I guess! 6 months to be exact.

Hey all you fellow Micro folks!! This is offiically my first post to allnurses.com... I didn't realize this Micro forum was on here. But I'm glad to find it! I'm finishing up Micro and the lab this semester. These are the last of my pre-req's before petitioning to the Central NM Community College (formerly TVI). Our semester doesn't finish until mid-December. The midterm in lab was the most intense test I have taken. Got an 86. The only thing left for lab is my unknown project/paper which is the final. I've figured out the gram-negative bacteria is E. coli but the gram-positive bacteria is driving me nuts...

catzy5, I know, it's so exciting when you are almost done and we are glad you joined us there And when you start the class in the spring, you can start your own thread for your class. :o)

TRSL76, glad you could join us too! Congrats on being almost done!

Winding down here ... or should I say ramping up?? My lecture final is two weeks from yesterday. Things are moving along with my biochemical unknown and I hope to have both identified by the end of Monday night's lab (Wednesday is the deadline). Unfortunately my prof waited until this week to advise that there would be a practical lab final next Wednesday. This is the first its been mentioned, its not on the syllabus. Apparently we're guinea pigs for the Science Dept to see how we do on it. Lovely. At least we got a nice study guide so we know what it will cover but its a lot.

:uhoh3:

So far I'm holding onto a mid B and I'll be grateful to finish with it.

How's everyone else doing??

So to all of you soon-to-be Microbiology graduates out there, I have a question for you. How difficult do you think it is to make an A in this class? I hear it's one of the hardest classes that you can take, so just curious on your experienced perspective.

Congrats everyone!

As one who is about to finish Micro, I'd say the difficulty doesn't necessarily lie in the subject matter (its not that hard to get your head around it), but the volume of information you must digest to get that A. Good at memorization? Not good at memorization but willing to put in the hours? You'll get an A.

Just wanted to let ya'll on his thread in on some good news! I'm officially a nursing student! I made it...you can too! I start March 26 and Graduate June 2009
