Starting a new thread and hopefully someone in the know will make it a sticky
Got an 84 in my first Micro exam last week. Not what I wanted (I had a 4.0 going into this semester), but considering the class average was 71 I'll take it and move on. Lab mid-term grades aren't back yet though and that one has me worried.
How's everyone else doing?

I think everyone has just kept posting in the summer microbiology thread. Noone ever started a new one. What you need to do is PM one of the Mods and ask them to make it a sticky. That is what I did for A&P2 and Nutrition.

And GROW it will!
Hooray for the new Micro thread! LOL, I actually wanted to start one myself. I have my second Exam tomorrow, I didn't do super hot for the first one because it was on the same day as my first A & P exam and I put alot more into that. I had my midterm lab practica yesterday and I think I did pretty well. I really enjoy Micro lab. My exam tomorrow is going to cover diseases of the upper respiratory tract and food and waterborne diseases. That's plenty of memorization I'm not sure my brain can handle it. All this material is pretty "invasive" LOL!
Good looking out on starting this thread! Here's to the micro students of fall '06!

Thanks for starting this post. After taken Anatomy 2 this summer, (Thank God thats over) I thought that Micro would be fairly easy. However, I was wrong. It is so difficult. We just had a test today and a practical next week. In addition to this we also have a paper to present.

I'm currently taking Microbiology. Our professor is really difficult to understand. We had our first test a week ago and only 2 people passed - one with a 71, the other with an 81. I got a 57 and I studied a lot.
Anyway, I'm here...stressed.

I'm in micro, too! We're on quarters....so the pace is really quick. We use the Microbiology: A Systems Approach book...So far, we've covered a lot of background material...types of infection, pharmacology, all that good stuff. I got an 82 on the first exam and a 78 on the second one. For the third exam, I put about 6 hours of study time in and nailed a 96. Now we're on to the diseases, one system at a time. Today we did skin and eyes. This is the GOOD stuff...though I enjoyed the other stuff too. Lots of work, very hard, but I like it. We have a project that involves "diagnosing" six patients based on case studies, should be interesting. This is my last pre-nursing class...taking winter quarter off and starting nursing in March! Woot!

I got an 88 on my first test...class average was 77. I'm hoping my second test will be better. Are you doing lab as well?
