Don't give up.

I'm really happy to tell everyone I attended my Orientation for Nursing School today! After 2 years of hard work in pre reqs followed by a year of being wait listed, today confirmed that this is what I want to do! I am so glad that I didn't jump ship when circumstances became uncertain. I want to encourage anyone who is waiting to be patient. If you know in your heart that this is where you want to spend the rest of you life, another year or two is not the end!

Hearing the stories of the professors on what nursing is to them made me tear up. It's so important to be passionate about every aspect of this crazy career we've chosen to pursue.

Don't be discouraged if you've been wait-listed or rejected, see where you can improve and be honest with yourself about why you want this. I was really motivated by others stories while I was waiting to get into a program, I hope I can motivate someone else!

Congrats and I totally agree with your message. Never give up! I have a dear friend who has wanted to be a nurse forever. It took her 7 years to get into an ADN program. She has worked jobs over the years but she really wanted to be a RN. Well she graduated last year and is working as a staff nurse in the hospital setting. It may have taken her longer than she expected but she never gave up on her dream.

Congrats!! I have been rejected before but I already knew I would but still didn't want to lose hope. I am working hard on improving my GPA, work on my Teas test, and completing prereq's for nursing. Thank you after disappointments of feeling like a failure I picked myself up and told myself that I have a lot to work on and to be patient and take things slow. I am starting to feel a lot better about nursing because I was trying to rush things because I want to be a nurse so bad. Trying to learn how to really learn like I should and to better think on things so when its time to start on my nursing classes I will have a better time and cope better with the stress of nursing school.

Thank you LovinLife28. This has given me more hope. I am 27 years old and I been really trying to push it before I turn 30 years old. I told myself It doesn't matter if I am 35 years old before I really get my RN as long as I succeed to do whats right and be patient. I felt like 35 years old was to old for me and felt like Employers wouldn't hire me.

It took me 4 years (8 consecutive semesters) to get in. Don't give up if you don't get in right away because your number could be picked the next time.
