If I choose a Health Science major, what is my next step?

Hi! This is my first time here. So, I'm a senior in high school applying to college in the fall and I hear that Nursing is an impacted major. If I don't get accepted as that major, I will will either choose "Undelcared with an Interest in Nursing" or "Health Sciences" as of now. Let's say I get accepted to college as a Health Science major....Can I still take all of my pre reqs needed in order to go to nursing school within 2 years? Like, will I be elligable to apply during my sophomore year of college to a BSN Program at Nursing school??? Or, Will I NEED to get my Bachelors Degree in Health Science, or can I just get my nursing pre reqs done and then apply and go to nursing school without a Bachelors in Health Science..? I was reading a bunch of posts and they got me all confused. I was reading that you you don't have to go in as a Nursing/Pre-Nursing major in order to take your nursing pre-reqs during your first 2 years of college... Can anyone confirm this and answer my questions????

You should contact an advisor at the school. They most likely have a plan for students interested in nursing school to take. Every school will be different which is why the info you read here is confusing you.

This is exactly right. Your questions are not generic questions as in one answer fits all universities, community colleges and for-profit institutions. You must choose the school, then ask your questions of them.
