I mean, at the very least it would get you used to the format of NCLEX questions.

I've heard really good things about using Saunder's, and a lot of people talk about having used it during school. It definitely would help to get used to NCLEX-style questions, as you'll see a lot of this in nursing school, and obviously on the NCLEX.

I won't be starting nursing school until January of 2015 and I just bought an NCLEX book at a used book store. It may not be the most recent edition, but at least it can help me get used to the general format and the types of questions. It will most likely help me, and if not, at least it only cost $5.

I start my program in the fall and many of the current students suggest getting an NCLEX book before the start of nursing school so you could be familiar with the type of questions.

As others have said with getting a NCLEX review book now it will at least start getting you familiar with the types of questions that you will see on the NCLEX and through nursing school. The way of thinking might be a little different than what you are use to and with some of the questions there might be multiple answers that could be considered right, although only one that is correct for the question.

I have a book that I picked up a few years ago when I first started my pre-reqs for nursing. Now that I am back in school and will be finishing up my pre-reqs I plan on starting to work through the book that I got. I picked mine up at a discount book store for under $10. As I progress with my education I will start looking for other NCLEX books that people are using with good results. For now I figure that the one I have will at least get me started in understanding the rationale behind the questions that are asked.
