Cypress College Spring 2018 Applicants

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone! Has anyone else here applied for Cypress Spring 2018?

I put in my application on the Sept. 1 and submitted my documents as well. I should have 30 points so I'm hoping I have a good chance at getting in. The lady at the window said that they will let us know "after we've gone through all the applications"

Does anyone know what TEAS test were are supposed to study for? I think I remember the counselor saying it was TEAS version 6, but I'm not certain. I feel like I should already start studying for it since I really need to brush up on math.

Hello! im also applying to cypress nursing program! To answer your question yes version 6 of the teas is needed. And yes study study!!Make sure you are still familiar with physiology because a lot of the science portion was based on that. The math wasn't too hard the study book prepares you for that. I have a question, I know theres a reading proficiency test you have to take before applying.. Is this necessary or can we satisfy that with an AA degree? Thank you!

Thanks for tips :)

I'm not sure about the reading proficiency. I satisfied the requirement by taking Critical Thinking (English 106 at Cypress). I think they will accept a similar course from another school, but I'm not 100% certain.

Oh really ??? I didn't know that I actually took critical thinking as well. I will ask about that thank you! And have you applied to other programs.

I tried applying at LBCC for Fall 2017 but the counselor said I had to do an orientation and either take a reading class only offered at LBCC or do a reading test. If I don't get into Cypress I will try to apply to LBCC again. Its just such a hassle applying at different schools because they all want different things done before applying.

Hello,

I also applied for spring 2018. I turned in my signed document and transcripts on Thursday.

I attended the info session on Thursday and the counselor said ATI Teas, which is the newer version. She said to start studying asap if you have a good amount of points because you have a chance of being accepted and the teas date will be soon after that.

hey all does anyone know when acceptances will be out? and will it be through email or snail mail? thanks

p.s why isn't there more people in this thread?

Hey lol the lady told me we would know first week of December.. which is so far away. I think she might of said through email.

how did you know how many points you have?

@candicore I can attatch the link where you can calculate your points yourself. http://www.cypresscollege.edu/ad/uploads/33/rnselectioncriteriaS14.pdf

I have 28 points, hoping that's enough to get in.

Hello All! I also applied to Cypress nursing program the beginning of September. I believe I have 28 points. I am hoping its enough to get me into the program. I already took the Teas 6 exam at CSULB and passed, so not sure what to expect at the End of November beginning of December. Good luck to you all!

P.S I heard they approve people with 28 pts and higher, and the rest get placed in the wait list. not sure if that's true.
