Hi everyone! Has anyone else here applied for Cypress Spring 2018?
I put in my application on the Sept. 1 and submitted my documents as well. I should have 30 points so I'm hoping I have a good chance at getting in. The lady at the window said that they will let us know "after we've gone through all the applications"
Does anyone know what TEAS test were are supposed to study for? I think I remember the counselor saying it was TEAS version 6, but I'm not certain. I feel like I should already start studying for it since I really need to brush up on math.
@hello77kitty I remember seeing it on the Cypress web page for the reading requirement/ class requirements for AA. I took it thankfully after they changed it to satisfying the reading requirement. I'm not 100% on the year, I think it was 2016 and after. You should check though. I was able to resister for nursing classes, not sure if that means anything or if everyone is able to register for them. I still haven't heard back from them and the website still shows no change.
*Edit* I just checked you should be good! Its 103c fall 2014 and after & 103HC begin fall 2016 and after. Sorry for the scare but as long as u took the 103C you should be good
@hello77kitty http://news.cypresscollege.edu/Documents/2018-CC-Spring-Class-Schedule.pdf pg 140 you should be ok! I checked.... Sorry for the scare! English 103C(begin F14) & 103HC(begin F16) are good

Yeah I just double checked too. I think I'm good because English 106 doesn't say a begin date next to it. I also went back and checked 2015 (when I took the class) and 106 was listed as satisfying the reading requirement. I appreciate you checking :)
Did anyone else already register for the 1st semester of nursing classes? It allowed me to, not sure what that means. Is everyone able to or do we have to be accepted to register for the classes through the program?
Not sure. Just remembered that I have to re-register for spring because I took a this semester off. I just did that today, so I'm awaiting a registration date. It says I need to submit an assessment petition and do an orientation again. So it's treating me like a brand new student. I'm going to try to go to the counselor's today to see if I need to do all that for just taking 1 semester off (due to not needing any classes).
I haven't gotten an email or letter yet either. I sure hope they haven't sent them out yet!Also does anyone remember what he minimum score they want us to get on the TEAS is? IIRC it was 62 or 65%
If anyone else is wondering, I emailed the counselor and she replied that we need at 62% overall on the TEAS. I'm hoping that it won't be hard to pass because lawd knows I've been going through the study manual super slow. I've only reviewed the reading, and half of the math section so far. I still have to review Science and English. I'm also thinking of purchasing the TEAS Mastery App. It is kinda pricey at $25 but it has a lot of information that makes it easy to study on the go.

Awesome thank you! Glade its such a low bare minimum to pass for cypress. I heard some places will only take your 1st try, even if u fail.

@cvarga19 Yeah I don't think I'm going to try working either. My work offered to let me work only once a week (8 hr shift) but I'm nervous to do anything but the nursing program haha. So I'm just going to put 100% into the nursing program once i'm accepted.
