Confused about schools

Im having a hard time deciding what to do about next year. I am currently a prenursing student at uw madison and am waiting another year to apply. I have a 2.9 bc i did bad in phys and have to retake it. I don't know if i should transfer to uwparkside or uwm or take prereqs at matc madison and apply back to uw. Are there any nursing students at different colleges that could let me know how their program is? It wud help a lot. My email is [email protected] ... so after i made you read all of this, is it worth it to transfer to a tech college to become an rn or continue with a 4 yr univesity. please help

I am not aware of any tech schools that offer an RN degree, but you can get your LPN at a tech school and then bridge later.

well actually, there are many tech schools in wi that offer the rn degree (which is an ADN instead of a BSN). However, i have spent two years at a four year college and don't know if i shud wait another year or transfer to a tech college.

I don't know specifics about the tech school(s) you are referring to, but a BIG issue that we have seen in town with one of the vocational schools is the ability, in the future, to transfer those credits/courses to a university should you eventually want a BSN or MSN +. If they do not transfer, you are not only out the $$$ you spent for that first "degree", you will be out the time it will take you to retake the courses for the advanced degree.

I would be very cautious; those programs can be very expensive in more ways than one. Check with local universities to see what they will or will not transfer. Do NOT ask the salesperson at the tech schools this question; they will say whatever it takes to get you to sign on the dotted line.

Absolutely check with university to see if tech school classes will transfer. I am taking nursing prerequisites with several LPNs whose tech school classes did not.
