    I'm a first year nursing student, but I've known for awhile that I wanted to be a certified nurse midwife. Yet, I'm starting to feel that no one else is interested on doing this speciality because I have yet to come across someone who doesn't have something negative to say about the career. So just wondering if there are any students who want to go into midwifery.

    I am also hoping to become a CNM in the long term - actually, CNM/FNP. Don't anybody rain on my parade!

    I am currently an IBCLC and brand new pre-nursing student. I plan on becoming a CNM/FNP as well!

    It's good to know I'm not the only wanting to go into midwifery This is a random question or you both but do plan on going straight into a midwifery program after graduating nursing school or will you work first and then go into the program?
