  1. Welcome to the group Shelexis! Congrats on going to start an LPN program in the fall and following your dream of becoming a nurse!
  2. It's nearing the end of the spring semester. I'm not sure how everyone's school year is constructed or school schedule start and end times, but how is everyone doing in their programs as well as personally? I hope everyone is super stressed out!
  3. Don't lose hope! There may be some bumps along the way to achieving the end goal of becoming a nurse, but let that end goal be your motivation in times like these. Take a second to just picture yourself being a nurse. It may help to bring back the hope.
  4. Sorry for such a late response! Before I started nursing school I imagined all nursing majors would be one big happy family where we all help each other out and can lean on one another for support. I was so wrong. I never realized how competitive and judging nursing students could be. It's a hard major, so all of us should stick together. Because of this experience, I completely sympathize with you. Avoiding the negative students is unavoidable, but I would say just be polite with them and leave it at that. They will only add negativity in your life and you don't need that. Also, with a little more time you will most likely come across nursing students who you click with and are not at all like the other negative students. Don't give up hope because soon enough you are going to find nursing students who you can be around and befriend. After my first year, I became friends with a really nice nursing major who now a good friend and roommate. Just give it a little time because your situation will turn around soon especially as the classes get harder and the students realize that they need to work together.

  6. Welcome angela82!
  7. Congrats NeoNatMom!!! That's great that you have been accepted into a fall program!!!
  8. Glad that this group can help! I hope that soon you'll be accepted and don't ever get discouraged!
  9. Great another person! I'm sorry to hear about your failing your entrance exam but at least you have a general idea of what to expect when you take it in March. Hoping you pass with flying colors! I'm in my second year of a four year nursing program, so I'm still considered a pre-nursing student since I don't take all nursing classes yet. But next fall I will officially be in the nursing program, since all my classes will be nursing and I will have clinicals. How about you guys? What classes are you guys in now?
  10. Great! I happy you guys are interested. Nursing school stress is definitely beginning. I just finished another full of multiple tests, and feel like all I do these days is endless studying. How do you guys want to keep in touch? I don't mind keep on adding onto this discussion or if you guys have any other ideas.
  11. I was just wondering if any other students would be interested in starting some type of online nursing support group where we could keep in touch with one another on a regular basis to see how we are all doing to support one another. Just let me know if you are interested or have any ideas!
  12. My college doesn't have a winter session, and the summer session classes that are offered are only elementary level.
  13. I live in Pennsylvania, but I'm not sure if this do that. It would be great if hospitals here did.
