Anatomy and physiology online?

I'm doing anatomy and physiology in the summer, the only option is online, this scares me a bit, but I need to get it done. The two classes I'm doing now are also online and I'm getting A's but of course they don't have labs. anyone have experience doing a&p online?

I took both I & II online and loved it. It does take discipline but you have more freedom. What helped me a TON was printing out EVERYTHING that the professor posted so I have it in a binder. Same thing you'd do for class. And the only time I was at my computer for "class" was for an online lab or test/discussion assignment. I treated everything else like I was in the classroom

This is very helpful, I never thought of printing it out and putting it in a binder. Thank you so much!

You're very welcome! I did half my English BA online and the other half through a satellite campus, so I had to learn the best way to get through online classes.

If your classes let you take practice tests, the BEST way to do it is, start the test then print it out. For me I had to start it then submit it and it would show me all the questions I got wrong (since I didn't answer them) then I took that and had those questions next to me while I studied the chapter so I knew what to look for.

Love the great advice!

I'm currently in my second week of a 9-week online A&P course. It's a TON of info, but as long as you are disciplined and use every resource available, you can be successful. I found a lot of good A&P lectures on YouTube (I think the username is AnatomyGMC). They have lectures broken down by chapter, helps me a lot to listen to them while I'm driving.

I took my anatomy online last semester and now I'm in my physiology online this semester. Both of my classes had an online/simulation lab component. It's definitely hard, but I've managed A's so far. Check out Kahn Academy videos for extra help/support in learning some topics - I've found them extremely helpful!

I personally would not recommend it. Some schools may not accept the class to be completed online, so I would check that out. I don't learn anything from my online classes and it's important to understand anatomy and physiology for nursing school, but I understand what must be done to get everything completed as soon as possible. Of course, it all depends on the professor and how they teach online. Good luck! :)

Thanks! I know it will be accepted because it's at a community college, that hooks up to a bsn program at the University of wyoming, I do learn from online classes, but the lab portion scares me .

Are you doing the BRAND program? I'm in WY as well and considered that before deciding on the Central Wyoming College ADN program in Riverton. I took my online anatomy and physiology through Casper College and thought they have been great. Let me know if you want the instructor's name!

No I'm at lccc, Laramie county community college, and then dual enrollment at uw after the completion of the first year!
