2018 applicants to Baton Rouge General and/or Baton Rouge Community College

Hi everyone! I have been reading these forums on the website since i started think about nursing school. Now that I am planning to apply next year, I would love to hear from some other potential applicants. If you plan to apply to the nursing program at either Baton Rouge General or Baton Rouge Community College, please share your thoughts, plans, or what you may be worried about... Im sure we are all trying to prepare the best that we can. Anyone applying for a second time?

Hi... I too have been browsing these forums for some time and if all works out will be applying in the spring at BRCC. I have a host of concerns such as is bio1033 a good summer course, the Hesi and managing my gpa. Algebra & A&P are my last 2 to go before I'm able to apply. May I ask what stage are you on prerequisites and any suggestions?

Hi... I am planning on applying to BRCC in the Spring also. This will be my second time applying. I have the grades, but I really messed up on the Biology portion of the HESI. Which means that I have to make a decent score this go around or I won't be able to apply again. I hope to get in the Fall 18 semester, but I'll be glad to get in the Spring if they'll have me. I'm going in with a 3.44 GPA and I hope that's enough to push me in with a good HESI score. I really want to make a 90% on it. I hope that we all get in, and become classmates.

Nurse2Be20, if you don't mind me asking, What did you apply with last semester that you didn't get in with? Only asking because I'm just trying to get an idea of what they accept so that I know what my chances are. I turned in my application 2 weeks ago and that is all I've been thinking about since then haha. Fingers crossed for both of us!

Hi Moosmom, First off, good luck to you! Sorry for the late response but I don't know how to get notifications when I get a response on this forum. I'm sure you probably already took your classes but if not, I would recommend Dr. J for A & P. We aren't supposed to put names on here but she is the only one who's name starts with a J. And I took Algebra online. Did you end up applying this spring?
