Hey Nursenel1! No I didn't hear about the changes to the application. I see it still says HESI on their website. You heard it was changed to the TEAS?

Hi! First off, congrats on getting into the program. How is it? What were your stats to get in if you don't mind me asking. I'm so nervous about not getting accepted into the program. I'm going into applying with a 3.4 GPA. Its a must I do really well on the HESI. How challenging is it? I know I'm asking a lot of questions, but I just really want to get it. Thanks!

Hi! I can help you out with that. I went to one of the advising sessions, and there were a lot of LPN's there. You have to take the HESI in which you have to make a 75 on EACH component in order to be considered. The challenge exams are in Nursing Fundamentals and Adult Nursing I with a score of 850 or above. You must pass both. Applications for the bridge program are Nov. 13 - Dec. 8. They only accept 10 LPN's, but they never reached the max due to non-passing of the challenge exams. If you get accepted then you would start in the Summer or Fall if not enough enrollment in the Summer. Good Luck!

Hi, I met with Ms. Dillion and I've been to the group advising session also. Don't panic, I know its nerve wrecking, but don't let it get the best of you. Its not impossible to make an A in A&P its just a lot of information so you have to study. I'm also applying with a 3.4 so I hope with a good HESI score that'll get me in. The HESI is not hard, but its a lot of stuff that you learned in grade school so you just have to brush up on it. The math section is a lot of ratio and proportion so if you can master that skill you'll be fine. Yes you have to make a 75 in each section, I messed up because I failed the BIOL portion of the test. Don't give up, you'll be fine. Think positivity! =)

Ms. Christin Dillion said its 50% HESI, 40% GPA, & 10% classes taken at BRCC. I hope my GPA is solid enough to push me through, if I make a good score on the HESI. You can take the HESI once per application cycle (a total of 2 times, once per year). This is my second time applying because I failed the BIOL part because I studied for A & P instead of Gen. BIOL...so its a must that I do well on the second go round because if you don't then you can't apply to BRCC's program. I'm not a math person either, I really despise the subject lol. I wish that they gave you at least two chances to take the HESI, but I guess that's why it holds more weight than anything else, because its a deciding factor.

Hi, are you applying to the program or in the program already?

Hi MoosMom! Finally, someone to talk to. I'm trying really hard as well. Is this your first time applying? Have you ever been to the group advising sessions? They actually took a student with a 2.9 gpa last semester, but she did really well on her HESI. I'm hoping to go in with a 3.44 gpa.

2018 applicants to Baton Rouge General and/or Baton Rouge Community College
Hi... I am planning on applying to BRCC in the Spring also. This will be my second time applying. I have the grades, but I really messed up on the Biology portion of the HESI. Which means that I have to make a decent score this go around or I won't be able to apply again. I hope to get in the Fall 18 semester, but I'll be glad to get in the Spring if they'll have me. I'm going in with a 3.44 GPA and I hope that's enough to push me in with a good HESI score. I really want to make a 90% on it. I hope that we all get in, and become classmates.
