Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I posted this in the General Student Nursing board and got NO responses!!!

I'll try it here...

Anyone in patho in the fall? How's it going?

CrazyPremed

My advisor suggested I take patho if I dont get into the nursing program in the Spring. Your post has made me feel better because I know how in debth the subject can go. It isnt a pre-requisite, but I still think it would help me a lot when I do get in. I may take that in the fall if I dont get in. Microbiology will be my Spring class because it is a prerequisite for the RN program.

Hi!

I'm new to the site and I'm a pre-nursing student. I'm taking patho this semester and it's really not that bad...right now. We'll just have to wait it out & see how it goes. This is the last class I have to take before I'm notified as to whether or not I'm accepted into the nursing program.

Hi, Texas. I have to take Patho as a pre-req for the RN-BSN bridge. However, the course I am looking at requires A&P 1, A&P 2, Chem, and Microbiology as preqs. I too will be taking it in the Spring if I do not get into the ADN program. Otherwise, I will spend my summer (after my first semester in nursing school) taking it to keep from having my brain rot. :wink2:

Chemistry is the only one I havent taken. Maybe that would be better first. If I dont get in, maybe Chemistry next Fall and patho the next Spring. Either way, I know it will work out for the best, but I really want to get in. :nurse:

Hey folks,

We had our first exam (out of four) last week. It covered cell physiology, cancer, fluids and electrolytes (pesky metabolic/resp alkalosis/acidosis problems) and stress. I just found out that I got a 94%! YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let's see if I can keep this up  ! Wish me luck. Good luck to all of you, too!

Well folks,

Exam number two down this week. It covered the immune system, hematogical, and cardiovascular - and all of the altered functions and diseases. I think that I did pretty well, but I need to put in more study time. I'll keep you posted.

All in all, the class is actually easier than I thought. Even though there is a great deal of information, it's connects everything together. It really motivates me to move forward with a career in medicine (Let's see how I feel after this test grade comes out).

How is it going for everyone else?
