Columbia University-ETP

Hey everyone. I was just wondering who applied to Columbia University's ETP program.

I got an email today telling me to keep logging into the website where I applied to check on the status of my application. Has anyone else got this email? And does anyone know approximately when they begin to post decisions?

I'm nervous as this was my #2 school.

Heya,

I also applied to Columbia although I did not get that email... I'm getting a bit nervous now looking at it because I'm not sure if one of my recommenders got it in or not. I guess we'll see. I believe they let people know in late January/early February from looking at last years thread, so still awhile to wait! Out of curiousity, where else did you apply?

Geez that's such a long wait!

I also applied to UCSF, Johns Hopkins, and Yale.

Hi!

I applied to Columbia's ETP program for 2009 as well. I received the email this morning notifing me that my application was received. When I checked my status, there was a note that two of my (both offline) recommenders had 'not submitted' their letters, although all of my transcripts were noted to be received, and everything was sent in the same package!

My guess is that Columbia is still in the process of going through all of our materials. Looks like we are going to have to sit tight and be patient for at least a couple of weeks, after that I will call to make sure all of my materials are officially submitted.

Best of luck, everyone.

From an ETP grad: be prepared for the fact that the administration of CUSON is very, very disorganized. You have to get kind of Zen about it. It will continue all through your time there. I graduated in 2006 and have yet to receive a physical copy of my diploma.

Dang. Sorry to hear about your diploma!
On the other hand I have been prepared. My college had to enter my transfer transcripts twice! They had to put it in again after I realized that I should have been graduating. It was dramatic.

You should probably check on the letters. Especially if the were sent in the same package. They could have misplaced something.

Yep. I'm still sitting tight. I'm just trying to focus on finishing all my prerequisites.

i also applied and i found out basically the day before the deadline, that they hadn't received my official GRE scores, which were sent out in july, so of course i had to pay ETS another 20 bucks to send it. lame. hopefully nothing else goes wrong!

Hey, guys,

I've also applied to Columbia for the 2009-start ETP...I didn't get this email about checking for things online, but I did get a "Happy Thanksgiving" message that said my application had been received, all was being reviewed, and we should hear about our application status in "the next several weeks." Then they asked for updated transcripts for any courses taken this semester.

Also said there will be no interviews and final decisions will come out in early February.

So, yes, the wait is on...!

Good luck to all
