Columbia University-ETP

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Published

Hey everyone. I was just wondering who applied to Columbia University's ETP program.

I got an email today telling me to keep logging into the website where I applied to check on the status of my application. Has anyone else got this email? And does anyone know approximately when they begin to post decisions?

I'm nervous as this was my #2 school.

I emailed him, so I'm hoping he replies with what the heck that means. No one else's pre-reqs say "Prerequisites completed or in progress: Received (Not Official)"? It just boggles my mind because I can't imagine what they would want, other than submitting my transcripts (which are both received and official) and filling out that online page was there another step? Did anyone do anything other than fill out the online forms and have GREs and transcripts mailed in?

Hey all!

I'm new to the forum. I, too, am applying to Columbia ETP for the psych specialty and am currently finishing up the prerequisites. Columbia is one of my top choices, but I am hesitant because of all the mixed responses to the program (but I am sure every program has its pros and cons). What is everyone specializing? Where else are you all applying to? Anyone from Boston? Good luck to you all!!!

Counting the days... I applied to ANP. I was watching the segment on the SON website, the Dean mentioned they had 50% increased in applicants this year. Makes my bp goes up :redbeathe Happy Holidays and hang in there everyone!

Hey guys,

I got an email from Columbia saying they were reviewing the application and to check for things online. When I went to look at it it said the "Prerequisites completed or in progress: Received (Not Official)". Anyone have any idea what this means? It's frustrating that they refuse to answer any emails or phone calls about application!

CharmedJ7 don't worry my application says the same thing, but that's only because I am currently still completing the prerequisites. I think it means that they already received the transcripts, but it's not official because there are some classes missing. Is that the same for you? If not, it could mean something else.

I am finishing up my prerequisites too. Really, they are done I just need to wait for the last grade to be updated so I can send them my updated transcript.

I am applying for ANP and I wanted to do their minor in HIV/AIDS care.

I am hesitant too because of everything I had heard, but then it was the same way with the other schools I applied to.

I also applied to UC San Francisco, Yale (rejected already), and Johns Hopkins.

What segment are you talking about? I'd be interested in knowing what the admission statistics are for my specialty (FNP).

Also, thanks jcarranz, I actually did end up emailing Jose and he told me the same thing - that's a relief! (Funny though how they said they wouldn't respond to emails given how fast he responded!)

Good luck everyone! :loveya:

Jose has been a miracle through the whole application process. He was always very helpful and quick to respond to emails. Out of the 4 schools I applied to Columbia was the best for getting back to me quickly when I had questions.

aack! my hr just jumped, too.

we've all done our best up until now, and the decision is (unfortunately) out of our hands! i'm doing my best to focus on having a great holiday season with family and friends. best of luck to everyone. :loveya:

In the end, I decided not to apply to Columbia (because I only really want to go to Hopkins). Probably not the best choice, to put all my eggs in one basket.

Anyhow, I had really considered Columbia a lot and I talked to Jose all the time...he is the most helpful person. Makes me wish now that I had applied, just because it looks like I'm gonna need a back-up school. crap!

Try watch this I got if from the CUSON http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/business/2008/12/09/am.chernoff.where.are.the.jobs.cnn

Jcar I too got rejected from Yale for ANP :coollook:

I also applied to Columbia's ETP program. I think the administration is superb, and the program I applied to (the Neonatal NP) was awesome. But in the end, I will have to ask that my application gets dropped because I already got into Hopkins. But good luck everyone! Columbia is an awesome school!

I don't know if I have told you in the Hopkins thread, but Congratulations on getting in Hopkins Undergrad!
