  1. Good luck on taking those prereqs guys! I just wanted to ask you guys if on your letters, if it specified which specialty you were admitted into? Mine just says that I have been accepted but does not say PNP which is what I applied for. Unless we just choose whichever one once we get to the master's portion?
  2. thanks for replying guys! its great to find people excited about BC's program, because recently I've been hearing a lot about Columbia. I guess the thing about BC that I'm worried about is that it might be TOO short. Do you guys know if its short because we will be missing any important classes or fewer clinical hours? Should I just ask Maureen about this? If its hard to get nursing positions in Boston, should we be worried then about getting jobs? Sorry for all the questions, its just that you two seem really excited and I want to be excited with you guys! =) I just want to be sure, because I'll be moving from CA. But I'm definitely going to visit the campus before I decide for sure.
  3. hey guys! i also got into BC for fall 2009. I was wondering if you guys could share with me why you think BC is better for you than Columbia. I'm kind of deciding between the two and would love to hear any insight you guys might have. I'd really appreciate it!! Congrats to you guys as well!!
  4. Craaazy! I don't live in the city, but I live across the bay in Oakland. I only go to the city for shopping and an occassional outing, not living in the city itself, makes it a pain to go back and forth. It must be fun living in SF!!
  5. That's so exciting that you know for sure that it's what you want. I am basically deciding between Boston College and Columbia. But at the same time I'm waiting to hear from UCSF in March. I am from CA so I was looking forward for a change of scene in either NYC or boston, but at the same time if I somehow magically got into UCSF, I wouldn't be able to pass it up... so I half want to get in, cuz it would be a good school, and half don't, so then I'd be "forced" to go east. where are you going to be moving from?
  6. Hey! I am also in at Columbia for PNP. Are you going to Columbia for sure?? Or are you still deciding? Congrats!! :)
  7. I was asked to re-submit everything, which I did this week, so I guess I'll have to wait and see. I had no idea it was all missing, cuz I got those letters in the mail saying they received my application and then I did that bsn interview with Filomena. But if it doesn't work out then I guess it wasn't meant to be. I will just pray things work out at other schools! and for all of us!
  8. So I found out why I never got an interview at Penn. They just told me that they are missing my essays, resume and transcripts... lovely. But I guess Wunder you have it worse, that sucks that all that went wrong! =( Don't worry, you can still get it all back on track. Good luck!
  9. hey dohzenOFF, I applied for pediatric np. i probably should just call her to find out what's going on... anyways, good luck to you too!! only a little while longer!
  10. Hey everybody! For those who applied to Penn, did you guys already do both bsn and msn interviews? and if so, did they tell you when they would notify you of their decisions? I haven't done an msn interview and was told it was because faculty are behind, but its like nearing the end of january! Anyways, there is too much waiting going on... But good luck everyone!!! :heartbeat
  11. Wayne Rooney...random right? i think i made this account when i had just come back from study abroad in England and it was during the World Cup in the summer. So at the time i was a fan of his briefly. Is your fiance related? Congrats on getting married soon! =) and good luck, i'm sure your letter will come soon!
  12. Hey! I'm also interviewing on the 16th for pediatrics! I'll be seeing you there! =)
  13. i also applied and i found out basically the day before the deadline, that they hadn't received my official GRE scores, which were sent out in july, so of course i had to pay ETS another 20 bucks to send it. lame. hopefully nothing else goes wrong! happy thanksgiving!!:)
  14. That's good advice, I think I will take it! :) Thanks!
  15. Hi everyone! I want to apply for a direct entry master's program (for those with a bachelor's in a non-nursing field) next year and so I'm trying to make myself competitive enough to get in. I was wondering if people who got into programs would be willing to share their stats (undergrad GPA, clinical experience, other experiences, etc.) and which schools they got accepted to. I don't know many others who are applying and so wanted to get some idea of what makes a good candidate. Thanks so much!
